Subject: And it's goodbye to gas .....

My insurance company is forcing me to get Blazer surveyed next year before they'll re-insure me. I'm going through things one at a time and have decided that my gas installation will never pass a survey. The bottle sits in a cockpit locker held to the bulkhead with a bungie with the rubber feed pipe passing through the bulkhead straight on to the cooker. In my mind it fails on several points - no sealed externally vented bottle locker, no BS stamped hose, bare hose passing through a bulkhead without going through fittings etc. etc.

Anyway, to cut to the chase throwing the whole lot out seemed to be the cheapest option. To that end, I've brought a second hand Origo 3000 spirit cooker instead. Any one ever used one of these, is it easy to get the denatured alchohol, can I just use (purple) meths in it instead, and finally, do they work OK ?

Any hints, help and/or suggestions always welcome .....

Regards, Brian ("Blazer" 1970 T28)
