Jeff, I too have the T500 with 501 interior (1980, hull nr. 490) and have had to rewire most of the cabling - where accessible, that is, due to corrosion.

One area not changed is the forward cabin bulkhead with the two lamps either side of the entrance to the heads, due to the difficulty of access and the relative uselessness of them anyway. The port side one flickers badly, presumably with high resistance from corrosion. Others I have replaced by binding new cables to the old and using them to pull through the new. At the same time I renewed the limited switchbank for a large block of circuit breaker switches more attuned to modern electrics and number of electronic components now available.
