Nick, Welcome back, we missed you! Hope you had a great time.

If the broker couldn't respond (an apology would have been the minimum) then it compounds the deed - and confirms the lack of professional ethics one normally expects. Have they at least removed the picture? In any case, you would be quite in order in sending an invoice. At the same time, you should contact the owner(s) of the yacht to inform them that they are dealing with a crook and may themselves be associated in copyright infringement.

Strange really, yacht brokers were once considered (or considered themselves) as a superior breed of gentlemanly trades people. I remember, many years ago when I was seeking a boat, how they reacted, to a man (they were all men then), by adopting a very patronising attitude at the point that I named my price limit.

Now this one has relegated them to the same category as the shady, backstreet, Arthur Daley type, second-hand car dealer.

I think it is time for you to drop your overly considerate attitude and let us know who it is, some naming and shaming is in order here.

Best,

Brian.
