The main worry I have about an untrialled team match is the qualifying - there are several ways of doing it (and the IVDA constitution was carefully worded to allow all of them) and there is no way of saying for sure which is the best without trying them. (hence the need for trials (among other reasons)).

Any competition including most of the big unis (and I include Bristol and Cardiff in this) must surely include qualifying - the purpose of the new format being to avoid arbitrary splitting - and *if* the SF chose to invite ImpOxbridge then a full-on 2-division with qualifying would suggest itself.
