"Budman" Nickens notches 1st win for Talley/Nickens Team

Crownover collects Bounty; Runner-Up $$

The 1st annual Outlaw Doorslammer Spring Nationals @ Dallas Raceway lived up to all of the pre race hype & expectations. Big Don promised the weather would hold, and if he ever gets tired of being at the racetrack, he's got a big future as a weather forecaster! Bottom line... no moisture during the entire event when race cars were scheduled to run. All of the scheduled classes were completed Saturday nite. Our sincere appreciation and gratitude to Big Don for including the TPSA in this race and to Bubba Corzine, Letha, Mike Fulfer, and some staff that took time off from their regular ADRL duties to help Don keep this event on schedule and running smoothly. Of course Sammy, Kenny, and all of the great staff @ the "Concrete Palace" have spoiled us with a tremendous racing surface each time we visit Dallas Raceway, and they did it again. If you weren't there, you wouldn't believe how great the track was prepped, and considering DA @ 3500ft+ during TNT friday, the cars were flying! If you missed this one... you missed an opportunity to be part of a world class event.

Reader's Digest Version...13 TPSA teams made the call and thumbed their collective noses at the 60% forcasted chance of rain. Randy Elliott brought the 'Vette out but parked it after TT's to donate his time to scale duty, some spot fuel checks, and some chassis clearance measuring. Austin lent a hand as well. This left 12 teams to decide the outcome of the second TPSA points race of the season. About the stroke of midnite, Buddy Nickens in the Talley/Nickens entry recorded the Win over Clint Crownover in the final. Roy Pigford was the semi finalist. Watch for pic's, and a complete race report tomorrow.

Thanks to each of the teams that showed up and Kay says you each deserve a gold star for takin' care of your registration early. Please remember to keep the Cowger family and C&W Racing in your prayers after the passing of Rick's father....
