The Chad/Terry 1st round pairing will follow ASAP, after which the 2nd round pairings will be determined. We should be able to complete this portion of the race by 3pm.
  
  The normal schedule will apply to the June 24th race...TT's start @ 3pm with eliminations to begin @ 5:30.
  
  Spectators should be at the track early as it will be an oppportunity to see two TPSA races for the price of one admission!

  • I think you're referring to Randy Blackwell who ran mostly NHRA/IHRA "Super" classes and ran with TPSA on occassion. I know he had the car for sale but haven't heard where it went.   I want to say thank you to Eddie from Conrad Racing Engines and to Doug Herzog from Herzog Motorsports.Cause it was so expensiv to bore my lifter holes and to put bronze bushings inside here in germany i contacted Doug and he gave me the adress from Eddie.He is really super explained me many things ,bored my block ,honed it and put in the new lifter bores with the bronze bushings and installed the new head studs from ARP.It was a great deal because I had to send the block here from germany to the states and back to germany.Eddie helped me with the problems I had with the american customs.Sorry ,my english is not the best but the people which worked on my block they are really the best!!

  Just got off the phone with Mr. Bill Bailey @ Pine Valley and they haven't had any rain in the area (wish I could say the same thing for Burnet, I finished loading up tonite in the rain!). We are planning to run both races as scheduled, and the Boxman and I will be at the track tomorrow nite. If anything changes I'll get it posted on the message board and on the PVR site ASAP.

• *****Rules Clarification***** -- David Hubbard, 05/ 2/06 4:16pm
  The legality of "split" dominators was brought to my attention today by a racer building a new motor for TPSA. While it hasn't been addressed in black and white, the intent of the rule was to allow a maximum of two standard bodied carbs on a tunnel ram. Our rules currently state "two carbs add 50#'s". This should be more worded more specifically to avoid gray areas and questions that could arise. Therefore, the line "limited to a maximum of two, 4-barrel American automotive production carbs" will be added to the rules. Also, the line "No "splits", "inline" multi barrel carbs, slide valves or motorcycle style carbs permitted" will be added.
  
  I was also asked about the transmission rule so a line will be added to further clarify that rule. "Any three speed (automatic) transmission adds 50#'s".
  
  I don't believe any team currently running TPSA will be impacted by these clarifications and the rules page will be updated ASAP. Our objective is to keep the rules as few, simple, clear, and direct as possible. However, ever changing technology dictates that issues will need to be addressed in order to retain the original intent and spirit of the rules.

  For those of you who couldn't make the race at Pine Valley Raceway here's an overview of the event. Beautiful weather
  conditions greeted the teams that showed up early to TnT but the gremlins would strike early. Holcomb lost a fuel pump (thanks Naylor for the spare), Hanson had to change a flywheel, Cowger lost a wheelie bar wheel, new member Lee Staiger's water pump sprung a leak, new/old member Malcolm LaGrone lost oil pressure, the Boxman's new 3rd member started howling like a tomcat at the backyard fence... well you get the idea.
  
  For official time trials 12 teams made the call. When the smoke cleared after the 2nd TT, 4 teams had run under the old track record of 4.90 and most had new personal best ET's. Ashabranner (5.21), Aaron Hubbard (5.13), Cowger (5.08), Naylor's new ride (5.02), Worley (4.92), the Boxman (4.91), new guy Lee Staiger (4.86), Otwell (4.86), Conrad (4.84) and DH with a new TPSA record, first in the 4.70's, 4.79. Hanson recorded a 5.00 and Holcomb was fighting some elusive chassis issues all day.
  
  Over 190 bracket cars showed up for the 1st points race of the season @ PVR and as a result, the program was taking more time than expected. When the sun went down, the temp was falling even faster making track cleanup and prep, especially after the inevitable oil downs, even more difficult. The first round of elims was called for TPSA and Otwell, in the Livin' It Cavalier, encountered some tire shake/spin that he couldn't recover from and the end result was a badly damaged racecar. Thankfully, Richard walked away, sore, but uninjured. At Mr. Bailey's insistance, all of the TPSA drivers and crews walked the entire 1/8 mile to determine the condition of the track. It appeared to be sticky and dry. Boxman and Conrad ran 4.91 and 5.00 to win their rounds out of the left lane, and DH won in the right. Mr Bailey made the correct call to postpone the race after Aaron Hubbard's top radiator hose came off and he just
  "kissed" the wall with the right rear corner(duct tape would fix most of it). With the falling temps and humidity coming in the track was just too cold to continue.
  
  Now for a little business meeting and clarification.
  Consistant with NHRA rules, eliminations had begun; therefore,the race will be postponed to a date TBA.
  Ashabranner and Hanson were the only pair not to run 1st round and once a winner is determined from that pair
  we'll go into the 2nd round pairings. Otwell received an et and mph and did not hit the guardrail or cross a boundary line until past the finish line so he is the winner of that round. The "first or worse" rule does not apply to infractions past the finish line. Just to make sure it's clear as mud, 1st round winners are Hughes, Conrad, DH, Otwell, Staiger, and either Ashabranner/Hanson.
  
  We have a much needed break until April 15th when we roll into Temple to tackle "the River". The TPSA track record there is a 5.01 I believe. Jimmy Phillips please correct me if that's wrong. From this past weekend's performances, I'd say that record is in some serious jeopardy! See ya' there.

    • The schedules, both dates and times, are determined by the individual tracks and ultimately, their customers (spectators & racers). The track owner/operators know their facility, weather tendacies, when they can expect a good turnout, and use their experience to make the best decisions possible. Adverse weather conditions affect us all and if it could be predicted it would be, not only because of the safety issues, but the facts are the track loses money on rainouts and cancellations. It would be wonderful if we could predict a 6 or 7 hour span of perfect weather for each event, complete with no oildowns or other racer related delays, but that's not possible. All of us, the tracks, racers, and spectators must deal with what mother nature throws at us and make the most of it.   • Everyone will have an opinion and there are many different ways to skin a cat. My view is to buy the best chassis (car) that you can afford and put the best motor in it that your budget allows. For me, it's easier to upgrade/update the motor than it is to change (buy) a different chassis. Probably the most bang for your buck is a used pro car (Ness, Haas, Bickel, RJ & otheres) because you can get the best suspension, brakes, computers, etc. for a fraction of the original cost. However, there are plenty of our members that perform very well without a "pro" chassis so it boils down to personal preference and where you want to spend your money. We currently race in San Antonio (Seguin), Temple, Baytown, Lufkin, and Houston Motorsports Park. We don't race in the D/FW area now, but it's something we might look at in the future. • ****Hill Country Boyz Own the "River"**** -- inside TPSA racing, 04/16/06 7:05pm
  The TPSA Tour '06 rolled into central Texas for their first visit to Temple Raceway this year under clear skies. With the temperature in the high 80's, humidity around 40%, a stiff headwind, and a new track surface, it clearly was going to be challenge. The Easter weekend and attrition took a toll on car count but the seven racers that made the trip were ready to roll. After the first TT session, a new (TPSA) track record of 4.979 had been recorded by Hubbard. In the 2nd session Conrad ran an impressive 4.998 in the other lane as DH lowered the record to a 4.967. Holcomb continued his strong performances with a 5.018.
  
  1st round of eliminations had Hanson over a redlighting Crownover, Holcomb's great .419 lite trailered Conrad, and Hughes moved to the next round when he defeated part time driver and full time crew chief Tommy Platt in a patched up 'ol Blue.
  
  When the call went out for the semi-finals the weather had cooled considerably and the head wind was now just a breeze.
  Chad Hanson and DH were the first pair out and DH moved into the finals when Hanson stuck the tires at the hit.This left Holcomb and Hughes. In the best race of the nite, the "Boxman" with his Glenn's Machine powered entry won on a holeshot, .425 5.085 to the Self Racing Engines equipped ride of Holcomb's .470 initiated 5.069.
  
  The Hill Country Boyz pits were packed with Hughes' father, two aunts from Vermont, Glen and his wife, and numerous other friends and relatives. Over in the DH pits, an old friend and his wife drove up from Galveston, and Les Costales came up to lend a hand to the team HE&B cars. The "Boyz" and their respective crew were talking plenty lip and both claimed to own the "River". These two good friends and traveling partners were in the finals here last year and had a close door handle to door handle race after identical RT's. This year's final was over at the hit as the "Boxman" won the toss and selected the right lane but shaved it too close with a .392 redlite. Hubbard carded a 4.969 in the money round.
  
  Next up is May 6th at Pine Valley Raceway in Lufkin. Look for the return of Richard Otwell, Lee Staiger, Ben Worley,
  "Mr T" Terry Ashabranner, Jim Naylor, Rick Cowger, Donnie Williams, the usual cast of charactors, and maybe a couple of new faces as well. See you there.

  Just wondering how it is coming along? Just guessing that it won't be ready for temple. Heck it took us 2 weeks to put our new car together and it was already set up for a powerglide.   The TPSA returns to Temple/Academy Raceway aka "the RIVER" this Saturday, April 15th. The weather forecast looks good and Linda and the staff will have the track ready for the assault on the track record of 5.01. With the record perfomances so far this year surely someone will leave with a new track record but how low will they go? Be there the 15th and see for yourself!!

  Congratulations to the Boxman for the win at the Baytown National this past weekend. Most of you know Donald crews on the Mikel's comp elim team and they took home the Wally and the bragging rights. Good job guys.
  
  The continuation of the March 25th TPSA race will be run in conjunction with the scheduled race @ PVR on May 6th. What does this mean???, simply that Staiger, Boxman, Conrad, DH, Otwell, and Ashabranner/Hanson will run eliminations during the early TNT session (12-3)to complete that event. Normal time trials will begin at 3pm - 6pm for the scheduled race that evening. Of course, the tnt is open to anyone that needs a few extra passes. This past weekend PVR moved their schedule up one hour and limited time trials during eliminations and the program was finished @ 10:45pm with a good turnout.
  
  In other news, TPSA is returning to Houston Motorsports Park. Graham & David Baker and their staff have worked hard to improve a very nice track with the addition of 200' of shut down, and improved, expanded pit area and return roads. TPSA dates for HMP are: June 10, July 8, August 12, and a date in September which is tentatively set for the 23rd. These events are produced by HMP and the Bakers and not an outside promoter.

• ***NHRA NATIONALS @ BAYTOWN THIS WEEKEND*** -- DH, 03/28/06 11:16pm
  Boxman will be working on the Mikel's comp/promod team this weekend so if you make it out to the races stop by watch how hard those teams work. Makes you appreciate just hooking up a battery charger and puttin' a splash of fuel in!I'll be catching up with old friends on Thursday at the DRAW golf tournament and snooping around the pits on Friday before Friday nite Pro qualifying. If any of you guys are going to be there give me a shout on my cell phone.
  
  I'm trying to put some promo material together and I need pics of the cars and a short bio of the driver/team would be great. We don't have an "official" TPSA photograher yet
  but Pam has gotten some great shots already and it's appreciated. Email me what you have to drh471@hotmail.com. I have a couple of meetings scheduled while I'm in the Houston area and you can never have enough material.... especially if the folks you're talking to aren't familiar with our type of racing or the TPSA in particular.

  There should be some record runs this weekend if the forecast holds up. Remember the track tnt runs from 12-3 and costs $15 (what a bargain!). Regular time trials are from 4-7 with elims slated to start at 7:30.
  
  We have a couple of new guys that are going to try to make the PVR show so here's a few guidelines about our procedures:
  
  Your TPSA entry ($125) is good for car/driver and two crew. Any additional crewmembers will pay the track gate fee. Be sure to tell 'em at the gate you're with TPSA.
  My trailer(green & white motorhome w/white stacker)serves as race control. Before you go to track tech come by the trailer and get your TPSA entry and tech form. Also, if you want to be part of the round drawings/pairings just come by the trailer about 30 minutes before the round. We usually just pick someone from the crowd to draw names. We will have the round pairings posted at the trailer as well as the TT sessions and race schedule.
  We will have two time trials (please make one in each lane) and once eliminations start there will be one hour between rounds. Everyone has done a good job of being ready and getting to the lanes on time at the first two races....thank you. We need to be on time to keep the show moving and PVR is expecting a good bracket turnout as well. We will weigh after each round and the scales will be available during TT's so you can check your weight.
  
  If you have any questions just come by the trailer. Looking forward to seeing all of you there and some great racing at Pine Valley Raceway.

  It's been a busy and short week but I wanted to thank all of the teams that made it to HRP last Saturday. You guys put on a fine show with some performances that HAD to be fun to watch from the grandstands. Thanks to Gerald, Scott, Kenny, John, Allen and the entire staff at HRP for the opportunity to compete at Texas' premier NHRA track. This week we have a short turnaround with our first trip this season back to the Piney Woods at the Bailey's Pine Valley Raceway in Lufkin. The schedule is posted further down the page and the weatherman says we may get some cooler temps for this event. Get those hotrods tweaked, shined, and loaded 'cause you know Bill Bailey will have the track set on stun. See ya there.

The race track is always prepped to the "T" and Mr. Bill Bailey will accommodate you anyway he can. The TPSA track record there is 4.900 and with the way we ran at HRP las nite it could be in jeopardy particularly if we get some cooler air. • *******HOLCOMB'S HOLESHOT WINS BATTLE ON THE BAYOU******* -- inside TPSA racing, 03/12/06 6:47pm
  TPSA's first trip to Houston Raceway Park was worth the wait. Gerald, Scott, Kenny, John, Allen, and all of the staff had the track right but mother nature intervened with high temps and humidity. She couldn't prevent personal bests for several members and some great side by side racing from taking place however. There's no way to remember all that happened at HRP last nite but here's some of the highlites. TPSA had 15 teams ready to claim the Battle title and each one was "packin'". New cars for familiar faces, new members, and veterans making their first appearance of the season. Ashabranner, Conrad, Cowger, Crownover, Green, Hanson(in a backup car), Holcomb, Aaron Hubbard, D Hubbard, Hughes, McAmis (G&G), Naylor, Otwell, Winscott, and Worley.
  
  DH led qualifying and had quick ET of the event with a 4.865 and Conrad became a new member of the 4.80 club officially with a 4.896. Holcomb, Otwell, and Hughes rounded out the 4 second runners with McAmis just missing at 5.009. The rest of the field was crowded with 5 teens and a couple of cars trying to find the cure for some bugs.
  
  1st round found Naylor in his new 'Vette, Otwell in the "Livin It" Cavalier (improved to a 4.937), DH (4.870), Ashabranner, Cowger, Worley (4.934), Conrad improving to a 4.884, and Holcomb (4.906) each getting the win.
  
  In the 2nd round you had to be in the 4 second zone to advance. Holcomb got the pass he'd been waiting for and became the newest 4.80 club member with a 4.888. Conrad (4.889) and DH (4.871)stayed consistant and Worley improved again to a 4.927.
  
  The semi finals had DH (4.866) over Conrad (4.885), and Holcomb (4.899) over Worley (4.951).
  
  In the final, Holcomb won the toss, seleted the left lane, strapped a .05 holeshot on Hubbard, and took the win 4.910 to a closing but too late 4.889. The win moves Holcomb into the points lead by 1 point after two races.
  
  
  The stats quoted here are from the track run sheets and some feeble ol' reporters memories. If your team's info is not correct or you have something to add, please let us hear from you here, on the message board.
  
  Thanks again to everyone at HRP for hosting us, Todd Bailey for donating his time at the scales, the Boxman, Rick Hanson, Tommy and Gene Platt for helping with the logistics and getting everyone to the lanes and keeping us on schedule.
  
  Next weekend TPSA will be at Pine Valley Raceway in Lufkin, for the 3rd race of the season. Schedule info will be posted here ASAP and the points page will be updated as well.

• UPDATES.......and Ramblings -- DH, 02/27/06 1:19pm
  Everyone who came out for the season opener at SAR participated in a great event. Todd, Judy, Russell, Freddy, and the staff went above and beyond to provide a national event quality facility for us to play on. Thanks to you all for having us. I really appreciate the TPSA teams that took a chance on the weather....it was worth it. I made three career best passes during eliminations and Holcomb's work over the winter paid big dividends with what I believe was two personal bests for the "Professor". With a few more laps the other guys will make big improvements also. The teams that weren't quite ready for SAR should be ready by the 11th and the action should intensify.
  
  On a personal note, thanks to Houston Engine & Balancing, Rutland Transmission, Platt Bros, the Boxman, new TPSA sponsor TCI (Stanley Poff), and Goodyear for their continued support of Hubbard Racing. It wouldn't happen without you guys.
  
  Back to business,three dates will be added to the TPSA schedule at Angleton Raceway Park, May 27th, Sept. 9th, and Oct. 21st. Mark your calendars and don't forget about the FREE tnt this Sat at Angleton.
  
  March 11th is our debut race in Baytown. Let's get all of our hotrods ready and show 'em what we've got. Schedule will be posted ASAP but I believe it will be on their spring time schedule which means a rare day race for us. With the weather in March we should be fasssssst.
  
  The homepage, points, and schedule will be updated ASAP. The ol' hard drive is in for a tune up and I'm waiting to get it back. Hopefully only a day or two?

• MIDNIGHT MADNESS LIVED UP TO THE BILLING..... -- inside TPSA racing, 02/26/06 8:23pm
  The weatherman got it right and a high pressure dome formed over San Antonio Raceway Saturday nite and the race was on! As promised, Todd Zampese, his boss Judy, Russell, and all of the track crew delivered an outstanding racing surface. Before each TPSA pass the track was drug (dragged?) and sprayed resulting in a track that actually got better as the race went on. The final was run around 2 am as I recall and conditions were perfect.
  
  Eight teams took the challenge of the weather predictions and made the trip to SAR. Richard Otwell had his awesome
  '05 Cavalier in it's first appearance, and regulars Ben Worley, Don Holcomb, Eddie Conrad, Chad Hanson (Rick's son in his driving debut), Randy Elliott in his first race back, Aaron Hubbard, and David Hubbard.
  
  Qualifying saw a new member to the 4.80's club as Don Holcomb led all comers with a stellar 4.89. DH was #2 with a 4.93. The teams have not been able to test because of the weather the last couple of weeks so many used the TT's to clear the cobwebs. With the track ready, and cool, dry air it was time for first round.
  
  It was DH over Conrad, Otwell over a redlighting Worley, Aaron Hubbard got the competition bye after Elliott broke a tranny, and Holcomb over a tire shaking Hanson. DH carded a 4.858, and Holcomb got another .80 time slip with a fine 4.885. 2nd round saw H.E.B., Rutland Trans, teamates DH and Otwell line 'em up. Otwell's debut outing would end with DH streaking to a crowd pleasin', and new TPSA record 4.836 (Yes you are reading the number correctly!), and "the Rookie's" nite was over when he was no match for Holcomb's on and off the throttle 4.969. This set the final between the two cars that had been in the '80's. DH won the toss and selected his favorite left lane. At the green, "The Professor" had .04 in the bag but DH and the HEB power pulled even at the 330 mark, 3.11 to Don's 3.15. Shortly
  thereafter, Don's Monte Carlo started making some moves which required some throttle finesse and DH went to the winners circle with his third .80 of eliminations, this time a 4.84.
  
  We saw the Boxman and HR, Cowger, and Donny Williams in the crowd and they both will be ready for Baytown on March 11. There will surely be more personal bests and quick Et's at that facility.
  
  Thanks again to all of the teams (and fans...Pam's group that means you....LOL)that made it out, the Zampese's, the track crew,Freddy who runs the Midnite Madness, and all of the great spectators we met from the San Antonio area.

    • Sorry fan but your opinion won't stand up under testing.......at least for me. On the dyno C25 made 20-25 more PEAK hp than C15 (or comparable fuel) in MY motor. C44 made 13 more PEAK than C25 for me on the same dyno the same day. Therefore, C25 is the best bang for the buck. Your results may vary but 13 hp won't push MY combo a tenth quicker. If it helps you or your favorite team that much.....use it, or buy them some. By the way, the facts are I ran C25 all nite but don't let the facts influence you in any manner since your mind is made up.   Thanks to Todd and Judy for the test and tune session on Sunday 02/26/06. Sealy had to cancel so we were invited to stay and test. There was a major import car event at the track and all of them did their best to annialate the starting line but the staring line crew made every effort to prep it just for us. I believe the three of our TPSA cars that stayed for the test session made more power than all of those little cars combined. It requires more torque on our lug nuts than an import makes. :) LOL

  As of 12:18 the race is still on. DH is at the track and the weather is improving by the minute. The weather radar on SAR's web site shows the line of bad weather is just about on top of SAR with no weather to the west. The system is moving to the east. Richard Ottwell is at the track, Randy Elliott is just about in Columbus and we are leaving in @ an hour. Richard made a few hits last night in conditions simalar to today with no problems.   I've always raced 1/4 mile and I was thinking about getting serious about 1/8 mile racing. Right now with my car runs 1.18 60', 5.20 @ 131mph 1/8 and 8.20 @ 165 in the 1/4 with a 4.30 gear and traps out at 7600rpm in the 1/4.
  My quention is how much of a differance in performance if any, a 4.56 or a 4.86 would have on my 60'and 1/8 mile, and mph numbers.

  • Put the 4.86 in it. Assuming you are running a glide with a 1.76 to 1.8 first gear ratio. Launch it around 5500 to 6000 rpm you need to be in the 1.10 60' range to run down in the 4.99 range. This is assuming you don't run into traction problems with the 4.86 gear. Of course this is just speculation on the #s you provided. I could be way off base here. (NT) -- Bam-Bam, 02/22/06 11:26am

  • Alex the RPM you leave at as well as thye RPm you shift at are both important when it comes to your converter and the # you post . the harder you leave and the higher you turn the motor the less slipage you will have . If you have a motor that wants to leave the line harder and the car cant handle it then putting more gaer to her will not help. Get the car set up where you can leave the line at 5800 and if uses all that then change gears . Do not throw gear at a tune up when the tune up you have is wrong !!   The contract on Angleton Dragway has been signed and possession has officially been transferred to a Houston based LLC, with Richard Otwell the CEO. Richard had a meeting earlier today that resulted in Jack Robinson, Nancy Moses, Terry Coldwater (sp?), and Brian, all returning to the duties they held previously. A work day is scheduled for February 4th to clean the track and premises. Any one who wishes to come help is certainly welcome. A test-n-tune playday is in the works for either February 11th or the 18th, depending on how long it takes to prepare the track and weather conditions. All TPSA cars, crews, and family members are invited at a discount rate. Details will follow shortly.
  
  The track will be heavily involved in high school programs including racing, street nites, jr. dragsters, bracket racing, and some special events including the TPSA. Some of the improvements being looked at are additional lighting, backup generator power, and a general inspection of the track surface, return road, and pit area.
  
  Brazoria County racers and all of the Houston area will benefit from Angleton being re-opened. First and foremost it will be a fun, racer friendly, family oriented place that you can take your entire family to either race or spectate. The tradition of a fast, well prepared racing surface with friendly staff and management will also continue.
  
  Any additional info or news will be posted here as it happens. I'll post track contact info as it becomes available and in the meantime if you have any question feel free to contact me.

  I told Don Holcomb I would post the voltage numbers I got on the shock servo motor control wire. (The blue one) This information is only useful if you are trying to condemn a malfunctioning shock controller. Or if you need to know your shock servo motor is working or not. First let me say when testing the unit you will need to strip the wires back or probe into the wires as they are hooked up and ready to race on the car or on the bench. In other words you can't just disconnect the wires at the top of the shock and stick a probe in the end of the connector. This test needs to see load or amperage draw on the wire. That being said the servo motor in the shock has 4 positions position 4 being the stiffest extension setting.
  15.86 battery voltage at time of test.

  • " A houston based Corporation is in the process of purchasing Angleton Dragway". It normally takes about ten days for all of the paperwork to be prepared and closing to be completed at the Title Company. The first "official" announcement will be posted right here so stay tuned. I can tell you that the fun, racer friendly, family atmosphere that Randy perfected will continue with the new owner and the track will re-open ASAP.   • Here's a partial recap. 7 members/cars that basically left their stuff alone or minor adjustments during the off season, 6 that are still in the motor shop that should be ready in 2 weeks or less, 3 in the engine shop that didn't race much last year that are gonna make the full season in '06, 2 current members with new cars nearly ready, 2 previous members coming back, 2 new members with new cars, probably a couple more still in stealth mode (covert action). 22 teams and most likely I've overlooked someone.   If you weren't "bench racing" at the watering hole after the Banquet you missed a good time. I think every possible engine/trans/rear end/tire combo was covered as well as many other topics. One thing that was mentioned was the fact we have two cars that would like to join us this year. The catch is they're both 605" motors (conventional heads) and are otherwise legal. The racers, and engine builders I talked to at the Banquet and afterward have been in favor of allowing these cars to race with an additional 50#'s added, making their base weight 2500#'s with one carb. If we allow them we will definitely keep an eye on their performance and adjust if necessary. Please contact me, Rick, or Donald with your opinion ASAP as I've promised these guys a prompt decision.
  
  The other "hot" topic was the high tech tranny's (three speeds) that are starting to become available....extremely expensive, but available. Most experts agree that we would see minimal improvements with our cars (2400#'s and 1/8 mile racing) but they are quicker. Therefore, the new tech tranny's (210's, etc.) will carry 50#'s more weight, just like the 904. This technology is changing daily it seems and it's impossible to keep up with it. Weight will be added to keep the performance of any new tranny combo inline with a quality 'glide. If you have any questions, let me know.

  Congratulations to all the award winners! We had a great turnout for the Banquet.....nearly standing room only and that presented a minor glitch with the Maitre'D..but he got over it...LOL. It is wonderful to see so much support and interest in the TPSA.
  
  Thanks again to our special guests, Scott Singleton from Houston Raceway Park, and the "godfathers" Mike Morgan, and Mark Neberman. I personally thank Rick Hanson for his efforts finding this venue and putting the details together, and Donald Hughes for contacting the members and updating their information. He spent a lot of time emailing everyone and "smilin' and dialin'". Thanks also to Kathy Otwell for the trick centerpieces and trying to keep me on schedule and organized. Her husband, Richard, is a new member and hopes to be testing soon.
