I've had a few calls about the progress on the Cavalier and been meaning to post an update. As most of you know, I tested the wall @ DTR early this year and the wall won! Clint and I decided to take it back to it's maker, Jerry Haas Race Cars, for the repairs. We got it back several weeks ago and we're tickled with the results...on time, under budget, and better than new. Hey, it's a 2012 from the firewall forward...LOL. Thanks to Mr. & Mrs. Haas, John, Dan and all the crew at JHRC for their hospitality and treating us like WJ instead of the Hill County Boyz we are! Jim Hooker & Son did an amazing job on the the body work & paint....also on time and on budget. It was a pleasure doing business with these guys but I hope we don't need their services again any time soon. :)
Unfortunately, no. Big Tom @ HE&B has been waiting on us to make a decision on repairing the Cav's bullet. It's been a tough year on the ol' wallet, and the drought here has severely stunted the growth of the money tree! Double A and the Boxman will have to represent @ SAR for the Hill Country Boyz. As announced earlier in the year, if you don't want a "lead trophy" don't be any quicker than .05 than the PRO class aggregate or average during eliminations. The PRO class "average" has been around 4.80 in the heat and we've been monitoring et's without enforcement while gathering info. We have accumulated enough data now to roll out the CCF (competition correction factor) and get it fine tuned for 2012. The CCF will be enforced @ SAR this weekend and the offender can choose to move up to XTREME, or add the lead! Once eliminations begin, you CANNOT change classesThe trophy you get to carry the following round is 50#s....I won't be on the board much today, so if you have any questions, click on my initials below to email, call tonite, or catch me @ SAR Friday nite, or Saturday am. The message board is read by the general public and I try to keep our "business" off the board. I sent an email before SAR's event to all of the PRO teams that I had an address for. Please email me with a way to contact you with info & details as it develops, and for a copy of that email. It goes into some detail as to the procedure that will be used for the rest of this year and some of the basics of the program.
