Thanks Charlie!

As you all know, Ol' Blue has been in dire need of a little "touch up" for a few years now. Over the off season, I got in touch with an old friend, Charlie Swindoll, who owns Swindoll Paint & Body. I've raced with Charlie and his brothers for 30 yrs or so, and he's located in Pasadena, right next door to to a place I spend a considerable amount of time in... Houston Engine & Balancing. On one of my trips down to get a free lunch from TC or anybody hangin' around the shop at noon, I ran next door to see if Charlie could give Ol' Blue a little love. Now Charlie and his crew work on anything from Fire Trucks to Golf Carts, Classic Cars to Motorhomes, and anything in between, so I knew my "little" job would be a breeze. When we unloaded the car, some of his crew said "Charlie, how come every time you take a race car in, it's in worse shape than the one before it?" Undaunted, Charlie said he could handle anything short of murder or suicide and agreed to tackle the project. A short four weeks later (four days ahead of schedule). I picked 'er up and brought a "new car" feel back to the Hill Country. I ran into Joe Pigford on one visit to Charlie's and seems Charlie has worked on some various rides for the "Pig Pen" namely a Motorhome, Trailer, and even a daily driver.

Swindoll Paint & Body gives free estimates and accepts insurance jobs as well. If you're in the market for some body work, upgrades, or just a fresh color, check 'em out at www.swindoll.net and click on the "body shop" button, or call 713-477-9414. Tell 'em DH sent ya!

[> [> It's in a bunch of different pieces right now, trying to put it together to test @ Crandall this weekend. Probably won't take time to shoot a pic before I load 'er up, but maybe we can get an action shot at the track. Regardless, I think most folks will think she looks a little better :) -- DH, 02/24/11 12:10pm
