3 things about the Teen program. 1) If California wants to win, we need to relocate to the south. 7 of the 9 national winners have represented a southern state. 2) No bashing intended here but this year's winner had bottom 40 written all over her when they put the state crown on her head. She is certainly pretty enough and charming enough but there is nothing about her that stands out to me. I would have sent the 2nd runner up and if not her the 3rd runner up. The judges missed the boat in Fresno again. Which brings me to my 3rd point. 3) The judges. Although this year's panel seemed good enough, we need to realize that MCOT is a state competition and we need to have state calibur judges. Instead we have local volunteers from programs that don't have a teen. We get nobody with a track record for picking national teen winners and the judges we do get are treated horribly.
