'Subversives'? Cool. I eagerly await us having our faces airbrushed from historic GAFF photographs.

The official GAFF site is one thing. Individuals who hang around on the GAFF messageboard are a separate thing. Since most people can tell the difference, and since Site Guru has not officially thrown a temper tantrum demanding we all stop maligning the good name of GAFF, I'm guessing we're doing all right.

>That's a big no-no in my
>book. Look at the credibility GAFF has these days

You mean, 'look at the threads I just found on f_w!', right?I'm guessing so, since you changed your mind about whether there should be a board right after finding those.

I don't claim to speak for everyone here, but the idea that not everyone on f_w likes GAFF does not make me weep bitter and remorseful tears from the very depths of my soul. While I don't deny they have a point about GAFF being at its best when the snark is at its highest, pulling down the entire board and presenting its mangled corpse to f_w with a 'Please, like us now!' note attached doesn't really make it into my top ten solutions. If I want to see more snark about badfic on the board, I post more snark about badfic on the board.

>I think my

For the sake of dramatic value, I demand that you distribute that list immediately. In the form of 'Wanted - dead or alive!' posters, nailed to trees.

>I had hoped that this free-speech movement, and the

I'm sure the GAFF Team would be pleased as punch to be described as the 'elite', but this is a messageboard, not the People's Revolution. (Which could be why the GAFF Team do still have 'GAFF authority', subversives or no subversives.)

>I was
>optimistic about using GAFF to help badfic authors
>rather than watch them peruse the site,

There's plenty of resources out there to help badfic authors improve, should they want to. GAFF is what it is.

>given the new
>sentiment of leaving reviews and GAFFed messages for

Don't spread this one around, but <whisper>I leave helpful concrit!</whisper>. And I think you'll find lots of people on here do the same. We might not talk about it a great deal, but that's because this is the Godawful Fanfiction messageboard rather than the Leaving Helpful Reviews messageboard.

>So far, I've seen nothing but distortion and
>sullying of the GAFF name.

Yes, because before the InvisionFree board, we were known far and wide as the saviours of poor authors. We would ride into town, leave the nicest concrit we could find, and then depart into the sunset as the townspeople waved tearfully. ("And we never even knew his name!")

>If you want to discuss things, great. If you want to
>flame authors, okay. But don't do this in GAFF's name.

I don't flame, in GAFF's name or my own. But I fail to see how discussing things on a messageboard with the GAFF logo at the top is somehow going to Ruin The Good Name Of GAFF.
