Isobel stumbled forward as the holding spell was extinguished along with the life of the puppet master. She quickly caught herself and looked around, eager to aid in the battle. But it was obvious that it was all over, and she was frustrated at not having been able to help. The feeling of being frozen in place, unable to move or speak despite her best efforts, had left her feeling very frustrated and angry, and with no enemies to fight there was no release for her pent-up energy at the moment.

The Jann clearly wanted to get out of there, having found the Peacock Throne (she had no idea how they knew the other group had found it... probably some sorcery or other. Suddenly the Jann were full of magical abilities that they had for some reason kept well hidden until now). Erlic put a stop to their demands by reminding them of their agreement.

"Si... we have kept our part of the bargain," she addressed her words to Erlic, though they were clearly meant for the Jann. "I am certain that the Jann are honorable people and will keep their part of it. Since they agreed to help us find the Branches of Midnight Hue if we assisted them in their quest for the throne, and we have upheld our part of the bargain, I am sure they will continue to uphold theirs." She turned to look significantly at the Sheikh, still dressed in his absurd ogre costume, the wig now hanging half off his head on one side.

Isobel moved to make sure Ravin was all right, wrapping her arms around him and kissing him deeply. Her pulse pounded and she forced herself not to run her hands over his body. Apparently her built-up adrenaline was having an affect on her. She grinned and released him. "I am happy to see you are fine, mi amante."

The laboratory was searched but nothing of interest was found and soon they returned to the treasure room, taking all that they could carry. Pillowcases and sheets were stripped from the bed in the bedroom and filled with items from the chests. Isobel crammed her pack full as well and hoped they would not run into any trouble on their way back to the tower.

An open doorway that had not been apparent earlier must have been concealed by sorcery. Since the mage who had maintained the spell was now dead, the doorway stood revealed and they all entered it to find themselves in a foyer that led outside.

They made their way back to the tower and after stowing the treasure with the rest of their loot, Isobel flopped down in a chair in the kitchen with a hot mug of java. She smiled tiredly, leaning her head on Ravin's shoulder. "Perhaps we should get some rest before continuing our search for the branches," she said softly.
