• Pilar, sounds like you had a fun afternoon. I remember rushing home from school everyday to not miss Dark Shadows. Talk about camp and bad acting, but it was all the rage back then.   • Oh Tuggs, loved Dark Shadows myself oh Barnabus Collins shivers I loved that storyline especially when they went into the past. But though it was campy & over the top alot I never thought it was MEANT to be funny... while I think Reilly intentionally makes Passions a hoot from the parody I saw!       • Yep, my niece is my surrogate daughter too! I'll never forget the day she called me when she was about your Katie's age and said "Guess what Auntie, if Mom & Dad die, you get me!"         • Oh Tuggs, I got that phone call but it was years ago from my godson since I was to raise him in my best friend's will. I loved Angelique & that entire mystery of how she turned Barnabus into a vamp... I can still remember last episode in that basement w/bats flying.           • Wow,Pilar!!! You and I are "simpatico"!!! I loved Dark Shadows as a kid--it contributed to a life-long obsession with the whole Vampire genre to this day. I like "Buffy", but find the writing too juvenile [Angel is only slightly better]. Do you like Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles??? I have always pictured Roger Howarth as the Vampire Lestat!!!             • Hi Trog42, would you settle for half "simpatico?" LOL! Sure, sometimes Buffy is juvenile writing especially last year w/Riley crap but I found the early years dealing w/Angel, the curse & slayer vs vamp legends quite riveting. Angel last year was trash IMO but suddenly took on a dark flavor w/the role he has to play in next big Apocalyspe & that burning Dru & Darla alive bit was VERY Angelus like, dark & twisted coolness he had.               • Buffy THIS season has been anything but juvenile, IMO, JW has matured the themes & revisited what exactly is a SLAYER w/Spike providing some thought-provoking insights. As for Anne Rice, here we part company I don't really care much for her twisting of vampire legends. And I preferred tortured Louis for Roger actually!                 • I had almost given up on "Buffy" last year with Spike being de-vamped, standing around feeling sorry for himself, and the whole Initiative thing, but I was very pleasantly surprised with this year. Spike's been much much better, and Buffy's got her inner strength back that she seemed to be missing last year. I keep trying to read Anne Rice, but I always get bored with all the background description and give up before it gets around to any action. Just don't have that much patience anymore.
