• College BBall is becoming even more guard orientated. As long as the players in question ( EE, TJM, MT, JJ ) realize that for the good of the team they may have to subjugate individual goals ( minutes played, ppg etc ... ) for team goals they should be a strength.     • I think he could be a nice surprise, attention will be paid to TJ and Talley, but I think Sean could be a stopper on defense and a nice PG. Evans will have bad nights, we will need a PG to step up. I am seeing TJ and Talley as scoring guards at the 2. PG will be EE and Sean.       • One thing is for certain, SJ will not play PG on this team. He is not a PG. He is a classic #2 or combo guard. TJ and MT are much more suited for the PG.   • Don't forget Sean Johnson. I'm not sure what JJ's role will be. He will also be adding depth at the 3. This is what I find interesting. If not for Brown's injury last night, The Lair would have been the regular season champs. JJ will probably be tried at the 2G and SF spots. With so many possibilities I counted him as a 2G as he may be redundant, at least initially, with Clark and Montiero at the SF spot. • Here was a comment on Talley I found interesting: UPMC was led by incoming Duquesne freshman Michael Talley, who scored his 23 points from a combination of strong takes to the bucket and superb outside shooting.   • Exactly!!!! My jury is still out on Clark and Saunders but I do believe that these incoming freshmen have energized EE and that can only be good.       • IMO, if they Man D us...I spread the floor and let our guards take them off the dribble. Our guards may not be tall be they are very quick. If someone drops to pick him up, it's a relatively simple dish. If they go zone, we can attack with either guard, then dish to either Clark or the remaining guard. -- TMH, Friday, July 16, 03:25:26pm

          • Funny story...I happened to be in the area and stopped into the AJP for last season's exhibition against LaRoche. Sat in the red seats and there was this old couple sitting next to me and the woman was whining to her husband about the FT shooting the whole time. I remember thinking, "Geezus lady, it's just an exhibition, they will be fine." Oh how I wish I knew who she was now so that I could go apologize to her for my evil thoughts...
