• Nice to see Marhold back on the court. Tomorrow should be a war between TJ & Gibbs. In the last game Ashton schooled TJ in the first half but McConnell may have actually outplayed him in the 2nd half. Maybe now we find out if he learned anything defensively. Saw this comment on the Pitt Rival Board and thought it was funny: "T.J. was just super once again, as he did nearly everything perfectly and the ball seems to follow him around like he's a magnet. For some reason, Anthony Myers wanted to talk trash and told T.J. he couldn't gaurd him after a Anthony made a layup. So T.J. went down and drained a three then told Myers he couldn't guard him.     • I like this problem a lot BUT if you think TJ will start then certainly Evans will not. Having TJ around has put pressure on Evans to perform and he has thus far.....this is a GOOD thing. Could Evans and TJ be on the floor at the same time? Evans at the point and TJ as SG? I think were going to see a hi-tempo games with a lot of substitutions.       • There is no way that they AREN'T on the floor together for large chunks of time. Evans is going to play as many (or at least close to) minutes that he did last year and TJ is going to see lots of time as well. That necessarily means that you will see Evans at the 1, and TJ at the 2. Whether that means TJ starts or not, doesn't matter...I do believe that both will finish games.         • Invariably at the end of the game ( last 3 minutes or so ) someone is leading and holding the ball a bit and someone is chasing and fouling. It is imperative if you are leading to have multiple ball handlers on the floor at that time. If TJ and EE excel in this area, along with foul shooting, all the better for DU.       • Two excellent ball handling great shooting guards on the floor at the same time makes for some pretty exciting basketball.       • IMO Slim, TJ McConnell is the best PG on the team and the best SG, at least statistically in head/head matchups. He is also the best pure shooter. I want him on the floor early and often until he proves he's not the guy. (NT) -- TMH, Wednesday, July 21, 07:08:37pm

            • The Dukes were still in ruins when Damian and Bill came in. We're a bit better now. TJ may indeed get major minutes early, but it will be because he earned them in practice, and then in the early games, not because he was handed a job.         • I don't totally disagree with you. I think he WILL be, but I'm not sure he is YET. Evans has played very well and the PG job is his to lose. As for BJ vs TJ at the 2, I think the lineup with BJ and Peggau (or Martin if he does well) makes us better due to size. There is a certain benefit in having someone of TJ's ability and energy coming off your bench, so ideally BJ and Peggau would play well enough to start and play major minutes, and you'd have TJ giving a lift off the bench. • Is anybody else amazed how well TJ has rebounded this summer? I would guess some of this is a funtion of just summer ball, but still very impressive and tells you a lot about his hustle and desire. He has to be a candidate for MVP the way he has played. (NT) -- CLK, Wednesday, July 21, 08:08:08am
  • Having seen TJ play at least 4 games at the end of the season, including the WPIAL and PIAA plyoffs, I was always impressed with his ability to rebound. Keep in mind that a good number of those rbs. were under the board where he had to do battle with an opponent. He just seems to have an ability to be around the ball & get to it in a hurry. I'm not sure if I'm surprised about his rebounding in the summer league. I would more likely say that I am delighted that he has been able to display that talent against a much higher level of competiton than he saw at the high school level.
