Subject: Dunno. Would a D1 team go "all out" for an exhibition game? Think about the NFL preseason - they all play NFL opponents. Generally "real players" go a quarter in game 1, a half in game two, three quarters in game three, and don't suit up for game four. Playing a D2 or D3team I think guarantees that you get effort, if not the talent level. Remember when the competition was semi-pro teams like Athletes in Action and Marathon Oil?
In reply to: Alan 's message, "Would it be better to play a real team--like pitt played RI? I know they have kinks to work out, but nothing would be a better learning experience than to play legit teams early on." on Tuesday, November 09, 07:20:38am

  • these games dont count, we could play Duke and lose by 40, crush the hearts and minds of some players. I like playing small local teams, get in shape, looks at the rim, game flow. To think however that TJ is going to nearly average a triple double v D1 talent is wrong. I like the fact that our second(SECOND) game is RMU, thats a test, Saunders will be back and the team should have some flow going. But first, we gotta beat Bluefield (NT) -- Seen on Miltenberger St, Tuesday, November 09, 11:08:51am
  • My guess for the starting lineup against Bluefield: Clark,Monteiro, Johnson, Marhold and McConnell--I think Peggau could be done. I believe he had more fouls than rebounds against a Div III school-shades of Neil Hood. Peggau is lucky that Martin can't play or he would be done. (NT) -- Econ69, Tuesday, November 09, 11:29:03am
