In reply to: duq81 's message, "I kinda agree with you. George Mason is a good opponent, but I'd like to see at least one mid level BCS team coming in. Even if it took doing a 2 for 1 to get them to come." on Wednesday, September 08, 11:50:51am

The George Mason game will be played 3 days before Christmas. No students will be on campus and even the locals will be knee deep in Christmas plans. GM had a great run a few seasons ago but now is an enigma....they beat Old Dominion handly but got crushed by Radford. The thing is, there is nothing sexy about the game. The purpose of putting so much money into basketball is
1.) Gain national recognition.
2.)Re-establish or invigorate alumni pride (translate $)
3.)Get an entirely new generation of students excited about their school and BB program.
This schedule does none of that with the possible exception of adding Penn State.
