Subject: That aren't enough O's in Smooth to describe the way Mickey played basketball. On my second day ever on campus, I foolishly got myself into a pickup game on the little court by the music school that was literally a "cage". At one point, I was left wide open and tried a shot from the corner. Mickey Davis took about two strides from the opposite corner and swatted it out of the cage. I knew then I had reached the level at which I could not compete, and remember it like it was yesterday.

I was saddened when he quit school and went to the Pipers in the ABA. While he was with the Bucks he had a nice, but short career.
