Subject: Prohibition did a number on many of the bars out West. For instance, the bar at the Crystal Palace in Tombstone (where the Earps and Doc Holliday gahtered before the OK Corral) is not original. The original was torn out during prohibition. The original was shipped from New York to San Francisco because the Panama Canal was not yet built. I think the same may be true for the bar at the Bidcage Theater just down the street from the Crystal Palace.
In reply to: Seen on Miltenberger St 's message, "how many of you guys remember prohibition? Its cool seeing many generations covered on this board, from students to what appears to be folks in their....90s? :-)" on Tuesday, July 27, 04:04:09pm

  • Was that a shot? I think most of the folks on this thread are of my era, we remember Mickey Davis playing on a freshman team and 20 cent drafts at Frank and Wallys. Happy 60th birthday to each of us, none of whom remember prohibition. (NT) -- Shushurara, Tuesday, July 27, 04:38:09pm
