In reply to: Seen on Miltenberger St 's message, "how many of you guys remember prohibition? Its cool seeing many generations covered on this board, from students to what appears to be folks in their....90s? :-)" on Tuesday, July 27, 04:04:09pm

We once planned to put Rege in a wheelchair with a quarter keg hidden underneath, but never pulled it off. Oh, and my sainted mother was at Duquesne during Prohibition. She told me they used to go up into the Hill District, pay a couple bucks, go into a cellar, rap on pipes, and wine came out. Some things have changed on the Hill, some not. No mother jokes if you please.

  • My Father is 88, so he was 11 when the Volstead Act was repealed. He recalls his dad making home brew beer in Sharpsburg, also they never had a shortage of corn liquor up in Cambria County where Grandpap was from originally. People forget about Prohibition that it was only illegal to transport or sell it. You couuld still (HA HA) make your own for your own use. (NT) -- Tejas Duke, Friday, August 13, 11:01:41am
