Subject: It sems as though the hitoric event significance only applies to the last game in Pitt's view. Maybe DU needs to ask the Consol management help to apply some historic selling to the first game in the new arena.
In reply to: Always a Duke 's message, "To PLAY AT the CONSOL or NOT to PLAY at the CONSOL. That is the question. While this issue is near and dear to us as Duquesne fans, it's disappointing that the announcement of the historic first college game at the CEC between the Dukes and Pitt has yet to be made without any or practically unnoticeable attention in the media. As I recall, the media lobbied to a degree to make the "City Game" the last college game played at the Mellon (now Civic [as I believe God intended it to be named]) Arena prior to Duquesne's official announcement on September 1, 2009, ... • "Historic Importance", "Historic Event Significance"...why according to AlwaysADuke and CLK, the Duquesne Duke student body must be marching in the streets of the Bluff over this. Oh wait, what? All I hear are the crickets chirping? Never mind. (NT) -- Jason2012, Monday, August 02, 07:45:24am
  • "Historic significance" was the tem used by Jamie Dixon in describing last year's game, and was IMHO the public pressure Pitt applied in getting DU to move its home game. (NT) -- CLK, Monday, August 02, 08:14:13am
