Author: Always a Duke
Subject: Your delight in Duquesne's middle ranking by a very questionable criteria tells me that you must be very bitter about your experience at Duquesne. I'm not quite sure how your discovery of this ranking relates to the Dukes' basketball program. Your unsubstantiated claim of success arrived at completely on your own is an obvious exaggeration or distortion of what appears to be an inflated ego. Read the book Outliners by Malcomb Gladwell for reasons why very sucessful people are successful. Rarely is anyone self-made with no help from anyone else. More inside ...
In reply to: Xyber1 's message, "Congratualations Duquesne on being ranked #373 out of 610 colleges evaluated by forbes.com. Pitt is ranked # 201 and Penn State is 192. Even the Moutaineers of WVU ranked higher at #343!!! (Link inside)" on Thursday, August 12, 10:24:57am

Mr Gladwell asserts that there is no such thing as a self-made man, that "the true origins of high achievement" lie instead in the circumstances and influences of one's upbringing, combined with excellent timing.
