A Chindit is a corruption of the Burmese mythical beast Chinthay, which are statues that guarded Buddhist temples.

Also, the Allied powers of WW1 were: France, British Empire, Japan, Italy, USA, Russia, Serbia, Belgium, Montenegro, Emirate of Asir, Portugal, Romania, Hejaz, Greece, China, Siam, Brazil, Albania, and Armenia.

I'm going to say that MacArthur's first encounter with hostiles wasn't in the Old West, but at West Point. Being hazed by upperclassmen.
