El Paso Trooper strikes again! He knew that Chindits were the guardian spirits for some Chinese temples.

Still no correct answer on the Allied Powers of WWI, so.. we'll leave that over the weekend, and answer that and Douglas MacArthur's first taste of combat on Monday, if no one gets it before then.

Today's question:

What famous person am I describing here?

Enlisted in the US Army at age 16, where he served three years, and left as a Master Sargeant.

Returned again to the US Army, served as a second lt. in the artillery, before leaving again.

Enlisted again as a private in the Marine corps.

Quit again.

Recommissioned as a Major in the Marine corps. Served to the rank of Lt Colonel.

Often attributed as the First to use the term Gung-Ho.
