Your interpretation of their relationship is so foreign to me that I can scarcely understand it. You basically suggest that you agree with Riley that IF their relationship was to continue, she should tell him she wants his lying cheating sack of s*#t ultimatum giving testorone pumping self to stay. I think it is highly amusing that something about how we see it differs at such a fundamental level. I just see Riley as so out and out wrong throughout their relationship and even more so in his vamp whoring and ultimatum. I don't see Buffy becoming non chalant. I think Buffy pegs it exactly when she says "You can't handle the fact that I'm stronger than you." More evidence available on request.

You disagree with me that if Riley wanted the relationship to continue, he would have stayed, regardless of what he might risk.

It seems to me Riley didn't want the relationship to continue. Xander's speech would have been more appropriate delivered to Riley.
