I am researching my late father-in-laws merchant navy service and have information from 1918 to 1920 but from there on the trail goes cold - I am assuming he worked for ships based in Salford Manchester eg Manchester liners as his last known ships were Manchester Hero and Manchester Exchange he was a stoker (fireman) name was Fred Chester, if anyone has any info on other ships that they were on and came across a Fred Chester during 1920 to 1950 it would be appreciated, cannot find any records in the archives on line
