Allen your posting discribed an brought back many memories, we had quite a few Breakdowns on an old ship The Durham Federal stem we used to drift around for a couple of days at a time, and Also on a Portline Cargo ship the Port Jackson, one of her shafts gave up and being a Twin screww job we steered her on one screw at 6 knots took us weeks to get to Panama for repairs the Skipper even telling us to use very little fresh water. all the Best Glenn
