Ian would no doubt be the 2nd of the two rescues peformed in 1956. The French trawler. I see the number of crew saved was eight,
(memory lapse)not nine ,as I stated.Glad to see every individual Lifeboatman involved is mentioned. It appears one of the Boats crew was lost.Note an earlier rescue performed by them that year,under a different Coxn ,resulted in the saving of thirty five lives. RNLI.members ,my greatest respect.To you and your families.
