Hi Humber,
If that's not your name, I take it your from the HULL area, knew the PARAGON bar well, however I digress.
Whilst I empathise with your sentiments, I must correct you on the jingoism....You can't lay claim to the Union Jack or Red White & Blue, this is the NATIONAL UK flag as is the colours, you can shout about the Red & White though in the St Andrews colours.
I for one do not advocate separtism. We are all acidents of geography originating in Africa perhaps from a growth in some stagnant pond to go by Darwin theory. As a nation we fought shoulder to shoulder in the same world wars and still do to this day. To sing of the hills and glens, the valleys and moors or whatever is just nostalgic crap. Sure be proud of your countries accomplishements and traditions, but lets not take it to far.. I MADE VERY GOOD FRIENDS AT SEA FROM ALL OVER THE UK.. If you must sing a rousing song of unity then sing the International, a song of common international brotherhood and no I'm not being political, just pointing out that at the end of the day, rational minded people are all brother and sisters
All the best to All
Frank
