Yes i recall that evacuation news i think was in 61' a bit after i had left the Castle Boats,cant recall what ship took them off,but George has cleared that up.
Mmmm!! lovely fish that "Kingklip" indeed,and it was then the cheapest one could get,remember my old Mum used to batter it and then deep fry, really was Yummy!!
Just on the Fish thing John,you may also recall the lovely Salt Snoek one used to get,gee that i really loved!
As for the Sterling Castle taking the evacuees back to the UK from Cape Town,well just shows you George what comes up in this Forum!
Memories never ending!
