Subject: I think Shara's right. I read somewhere that Doctors are NOT responsible for your health only for your sickness. They don't have the time to keep up on all the latest treatments, they sure don't have the time to worry about prevention.

  • There are several LC books for diabetics. One of them was written by a man with DM1 who was an engineer and went back to school to become a doctor to learn how to get his condition under control. I can't remember the name of it or him off the top of my head. I'll try to find it and post it here. Anyway, the low-cal/low-fat dogma has been preached so long and so loud now that many doctors are just accepting it as the be all and end all without any further research of their own. Ultimately your husband is responsible for his own health and needs to do what makes him feel the best. (NT) -- Katie, 07:18:52 08/08/02 Thu
