Subject: Okay Newbies? Some advice...

It never ceases to amaze me how many people new to LC will watch a news program or see a co-worker lose a lot of weight and say, "I want to do that too." They get an idea of what they can and cannot eat from only this one source -- and that's it!

Boom, they go on the diet without any knowledge of how or why it works. I guess they think a $7-$10 book isn't worth it to learn how to work the plan properly. My goodness people! EDUCATE yourself! You are missing valuable information, tips and nutritional know-how by not reading at least ONE of the LC books out there right now. You will never be a success on a LC plan without understanding the simple science behind it. When I first got interested in LC, I wanted to follow Atkins. I went to Barnes & Noble to buy the book, and fortunately I flipped through a few pages of it first before I purchased it... The entire section on "sample menus" had been ripped out by someone who didn't want to buy the book, but obviously wanted to start the diet. Do you think that person was successful on LC?? Not likely!

Hey bottom line is you are WORTH it okay? Take the 10 bucks, buy the book, read the dang thing. Your health and your body depend on it, so be smart and educate yourself and plan to succeed. If you fail to plan, you plan to fail -- simple as that. You can't properly plan without the knowledge it takes so stop procrastinating and read the book. If you are truly that broke, then check-out a copy from the library. There are many great LC books out there -- Atkins, Protein Power, Schwarzbien Principle, Carbohydrate Addicts. All of them have valuable information you NEED to succeed on this WOE. Good luck!
