I weighed just under 300 pounds too when I started. I was at 282. It is miserable being at that weight isn't it? I just hated how I felt. Plus I felt afraid that I would never be able to lose the weight, my ankles and knees hurt from carrying that much weight around. Couldn't do a situp (or much of any other kind of excercise) to save my life.

Felt doomed to keep getting fatter.

Anyway I went on Atkins and within a week and a half lost 13.5 pounds. Just prior to going on Atkins managed almost by accident to lose 4 pounds, so I lost 17.5 within about a month.

Over the next 8 months managed to lose 50 pounds. Got bored, cheated a lot, but kept to the principals and managed to keep going back on enough to keep it off (most of the time).

It has been a couple of years for me that I've been living this way. I've gotten down to 57 pounds less (last month, up a little from that now).

And I feel so much better. I work out now and am building muscle. Even though not sticking to low carb totally right now, am managing to keep my weight off due to the excercise I'm doing and due to sticking mostly to low carb.

If I could do it, you can too. (Maybe even better than I have). Still 50 pounds is a LOT of difference in your life. I feel healthier, stronger and more able to enjoy my life. If I never get to goal, I'm still glad I made the effort to come this far. You will too.

Don't look at it as "I need to lose 150 pounds" Look at it as "I need to gain a firmer trimmer body" Aim for 5 pounds at a time. Aim for more excercise (when you're ready).

You can do it.
