Just have to tell you something I feel is kind of ironic/spooky....

Donna's other dog, also a Golden Retriever was named Shasta. She also had to be PTS due to cancer. She passed onto the bride on 09/11......

never will forget the day she died just for that reason...

anyway..I know she went to the Bridge anywhere between 4:00 and 4:20..because the appointment was made for after Chuck got out of work...

ok...

Yesterday, Abby was to be take care of around 4:15.....

I had just got into my car and turned on the radio, and what song came on but...

"Where were you when the world stopped turning" by Alan Jackson...

I looked at the clock in my car and it read 4:08....

I've never heard this song without thinking of Shasta along with all the devestation done that day...

Then to have it come on yesterday..at I'm assuming very close to the time when Abby was crossing the bridge just gave me the goose-bumps....

Is it me, or is this somekind of sign or something???

Hi, Kate - I think it's *definitely* a sign. And the proof is the fact that you got goosebumps. I'm sure this message came to you for a reason......I just took an Animal Communication workshop from Karen Anderson from Washington. (www.karenanderson.net) It was such a comfort to take her class with other animal lovers. She's *very good* if you or anyone else ever wants to communicate with an animal. Okay, Kate (Kathy), the logical side of me says that it's just a coincidence. If we look hard enough, we can find "meaning" in almost anything. But the emotional side of me says it's definitely a sign. I think I've mentioned here the star that I believe is my Dad looking down on me every morning when I go out for the paper and how I stop and have a short chat with him. And there are a few other things that I feel were just too coincidental regarding my Dad. I suppose it *could* be because I want so desperately for it to be so. There have been many times when I've asked Dad to send me a sign that he's okay, whole and happy now. And.......what *I* consider a sign does come to me. It could be argued that it's just coincidence but I don't want to believe that. So I guess what's more important here is the fact that you felt goosebumps on hearing this song at about the time Abby was making her trip to The Bridge. (NT) -- Sandy, 3:04:20 pm, Thu, 06/07/07
It does seem to be a bit "much" that you've always thought of Shasta when you've heard this song and now, yesterday, you hear the same song when you think Abby is leaving this world. Very eerie, indeed. I really think that what's more important here is what YOU believe. Could it be that Shasta was letting you know that she was ready to be reunited with her pal? Or just waiting for Abby? Or maybe Abby was saying a "thank you" to you for coming to her and saying goodbye? I want to believe that our animals, especially, come to us in ways that we can't always know. All we can do is try to be open to what might be called the supernatural and take from it what we can. And lastly.......I'm being kind of long winded here.......funny that you should mention Alan Jackson. I'm just getting into country music because I hate most of what's on the radio these days. And hard rock? Terrible! But country music speaks to me. About two months ago, as I was leaving my doctor's office, I too turned on the radio in the car and heard Alan Jackson singing "Remember When." I came home and "You Tubed" the song and OMG! I'm in love. This song is so wistful and full of longing.......someone even set the song to a montage of scenes from "The Notebook." I sat there and cried. But you know what Sandy..I'm with you..it may all be concidence when you ask for a sign from your Dad that he is ok..and you receive one..and a concidence that this song came on just when I think Abby was passing over the bridge..but you are right....coincidence or not, if it makes us feel better at more at peace believing these signs, then I truly feel that is fine..and the way things should be....you are right..what is important is what we believe and feel in our hearts...
