Subject: SMARTYPANTS!!!!!!!!! Had lots of work to do to get ready. I'm trying to get all my bills paid, the house clean, stock up on cats stuff, all that junk that goes with it. I have no idea how I am going to feel when I get home, so I want to have everything done ahead of time so I can just come home and relax. It's a very easy laparoscopic surgery but I've never been cut open before so I am clueless how I will handle it. I am very very nervous, but that is because of flying. I haven't slept well all week. I'M REALLY NERVOUS!!!!!!!! ...................................come inside
In reply to: Denise 's message, "Today was Friday, didn't SOMEONE say they should have time to stop and in update us??? Surgery, airports, airplane, used to be scared to fly.....huh???" on 8:23:58 pm, Fri, 03/21/08

I have to get up at 3 am tomorrow to leave for the airport. Then I have surgery Monday. I'll be home very late thursday night. There is a computer at the center where I'll be, so I will try to come on and give you an update. But don't worry, I'll be fine. No-one ever died from this!

Of course, we are also still worried about Neil's sister. I guess she finally gave the OK to have her leg removed, but could change her mind at any time. Neil is upset now too because we won't be here for the operation. Her heart is so bad we aren't even sure if she can withstand the surgery. Although, getting her leg removed will help her heart work a whole lot better! So, we spend as much time as we can with her.

Had Missy to the vet for a long term steroid shot so the kittysitter wouldn't have to worry about pilling her. SHe has lost weight again (even on the steroids) and her liver values went up a little bit. She is not in danger of becoming jaundice but the vet is worried about diabetes or thyroid so when we get back we'll have to do more tests. He makes me a little nervous because every time we see him, he always mentions something about how long we have kept her alive with this disease and I get the feeling (although he isn't saying it, but his words imply it) that she has lived beyond expectations and might not have a long time to go. It has been 3 years now. She has become much more loving lately and even let me snuggle her! Usually, she only wants her dad. Anyway, I REFUSE to let any of my kitty babies live less than 20 years, so we'll be fine.

Sandy, I am glad you are better - finally! But so sorry for your husband. Being sick sucks! I hope the new mushroom meds help the poor fella. Anything is worth a try in my opinion. You never know when something unconventional will work. I'll keep you all in my thoughts and prayers. (AND STOP GETTING THAT PHONE WET!!!!). Oh, and glad to hear about Chickory. That would be WONDERFUL if the food wokrs instead of medicine. Wow, that really would be great.

Kate, I am so sorry to hear about Maggie. I hope the problem is just with her meds. Maybe it is the type of thing that requires adjusting before finding the right dosage. I know my friend at work gets regular checkups and alters her meds often. Of course, she isn't a cat, but maybe it's the same thing. She'll be in my thoughts and prayers too.

Denise!! Hows things with you? Is your mom ok? The critters? You need to give me some updates. Hey, call me Monday night at the center, it's 1-866 drortiz. I forgot that anyone can call me. Just remember it is the west coast so there is a time difference. I will probably be done around noonish or so and I have to stay over one night. So anyone can call me!!! I might need the company to keep from being bored. They say I will be up and walking within an hour of being done. So, give me a call!!

Karen - you'll have to give me the web site address again so I can go check out your pictures! I too, love photography, but I am by no means anywhere near a professional. Just love photos, and I would like to check your site.

Crystal, did you win the contest?

VICKIE where the heck are you??????????

Ok, buddies, gots to go. I am checking out my sisters new apartment in a little while, then we have to go to my step sons house for a visit, then to see Neil's sister then off to bed!!! So, have a great Easter everyone and be well!! And give me a call if you want, Monday afternoon or night! 1-866-drortiz.

Take care all!
