Happy Saturday and Happy First Day of Winter...........and boy, IS IT EVER!!! After Gerry got home from work, we went out to finish the Christmas shopping for eachother................in gorgeous 60 degree weather!!! I was hot in a sweater!! Since neither one of us could come up with anything for Christmas, I figured we'd end up frustrated and angry with eachother but in one trip to Penney's, we had our shopping for eachother done in 30 minutes. Walked a bit of the mall, until I was hurting too much to go further, and then went to Verizon to have them check my phone. It was making a funny noise that turned out to be nothing. Then we ate dinner at Sonic (yum,yum) and went to Walmart for some gift cards and then Hastings for DVD's and to look at books. After a quick drive around to look at lights, we got home about 9 and it was still so very warm out. -- Piggy's Pad

Got up fairly early this morning (by 8 a.m., which is very early for a Saturday) and there was still no hint of the rain or snow that was supposed to start at midnight last night. By about 11, the first flakes started to show up and then we got some THUNDER snow. And with that, the sky opened!!! We're having blizzard conditions. It's very windy and we've got a 3 foot drift across the top of the driveway and the snow's still coming in droves. But we're warm and happy at home with no where to go and nothing to do but wrap some gifts. From the kitchen window, it looks so pretty out with all of the unspoiled snow. Gerry can go out later and snowblow the driveway and then go over to our neighbor's and do theirs but for now, we're just watching it come down.
