Thanks, wish you were closer too! I got those wipes, but they don't seem to do too much except make them smell good. They are fine though, no weird behaviour and the 48 hours are passed so they will be ok. Did a l;ot of cleaning all weekend and the washing machine has been going non-stop and I haven't even started on my clothes yet! At least it doesn't smell, so that is a plus. Another good thing, I have so many throws covering my sofas and chairs, I think a regular clean will do the trick. The cleaning lady was here and cleaned quite a bit of it too and Neil has been doing the walls, floors and celing fans. We will still have to paint I think, but I was getting bored again with everything anyway. Oh well, thats life! -- Piggy's Pad

It's oil radiator baseboard heater. When the furnace malfunctions it can send a poof of soot which will permeate every crack, space and crevice in your whole house. It's a mess! But mine was very small and minor, thank GOD!! So i have gray instead of black and it doesn't really look that horrible. (NT) -- Ramona, 2:29:12 pm, Mon, 01/07/08
Oh, yuck. You may have the grey but I'll bet it's still one horrible mess to clean up. The only time I've ever dealt with oil radiators was when we lived in the lighthouse. Thankfully, the boiler in the basement was rather new and we never had any problems with it. But when we first got to Maine, we had electric baseboard heat and I HATED that. We were always cold.
