Kate, I hope your furnace is holding up and will make it through the weekend. What kind of furnace do you have? Do you have a boiler system or do you have a forced air system like we do? In Maine, we had baseboard electric heat and I hated that. We were always cold. But when we lived in the lighthouse, we had a hot water, radiator boiler system that was heaven. Nice, constant heat. And here, we're all natural gas forced air systems. But I'm thinking of you and hoping that you'll have heat until your service company can find you a new furnace. -- Piggy's Pad

Ramona, I hope you had fun today on your trip and enjoyed the exhibit. I'll google up "bodies" when I get done here and see exactly what you're doing in the city. Thanks!! I do like this one myself this year. The exhibit was awesome, except for the room with the babies. Didn't expect that. Was kind of neat seeing a real fetus at all different ages, but so sad just the same, knowing they died before they were even born. Hey, 25 years is a good long time for a furnace. So-far-so-good Sandy for our furnace....it's been co ming on all by itself all day, and hasn't acted up since last night when Ted was here.....Just keeping our fingers and toes crossed that it keeps it up until Wednesday!! We've got gas forced air. (NT) -- Kate, 7:39:05 pm, Sat, 12/01/07
PS...I see below you were asking what was wrong....it's the original furnace that was here when we moved in. Honestly we knew it was getting close to the time it was going to need replaced, but you know how that goes, each year when it starts ok you think, ok, we are fine for one more year.....Honestly we where hoping to get a couple of more years out of it, but on the other hand we aren't suprised it can't be fixed and that we need a new one.....know what I mean?

Hey, if you got 25 years out of it, you done good, girl!!! When we bought our house, it was 6 years old. At 17, we replaced the furnace to a new 90% efficient one and a new, larger water heater. But hey, I never realized that you had forced air natural gas systems in PA. I guess I thought you'd be using the baseboard electric heat or some kind of a boiler system.
