I wish I could, Denise. What little outdoor decorating we do (I prefer to think of it as tastefully understated) Gerry got done the weekend before Thanksgiving, when it was close to 70. We still need to put the tree up, which I'm NOT looking forward to, thanks to Biscuit. He's into, and eating, everything!! Gerry said he put the tree up but not decorate it for a week or so........and he's hoping that Biscuit will be scared of the tree. Yeah, right! What planet is he living on? Okay, Kate, I don't have the windows open today...........at least, not yet. The predicted high for today is 52 but tomorrow, we're supposed to get to 60 and you can bet I'll have the windows open before we go to pool. But on Wednesday, we cool off again. But I gotta tell ya, right now, it's a very frosty 19 outside. I about froze my tushie off when I went out for the paper at 5:20. But the stars were fantastic. knock-on-wood the furnace is still holding it's own......
mostly what the problem is is that it is 25 years old...it's also a brand (it came with the house) that no one in our area services or even wants to have anything to do with....we think when the previous owner bought it it was touted as the "next best furnance ever....." and it never lived up to it's hype....our plumber only knew of one other one put in about the same time as this one, and that guy took it back out within a year...hated it because it was noisey and just didn't do all that was promised.... we found the original receipt for it...25 years ago Bud (the previous owner) paid a little over $2,400 for it, so it was definitely an expensive one.....but I have a feeling he didn't get what he paid for....when we first moved in we couldn't get one person to come and look it over to see if it needed cleaned or anything...as soon as I named what kind it was, they said "no thank you" and that was it!!
another reason we are glad to get rid of it..always felt like it was a time-bomb in our basement...waitiang for it to up and die and then not being able to get anyone to come and look at it!!!
