I haven't bought any people gifts this year. I gave money to a mission in Nicaragua so that a family could have a house built and food for a year. I so hate to feel relief on the 26th of Dec. each year and I thought that it was the shopping that bogged me down so....I did get all the g'kids new pj's, that's a tradition but we all have so much and so often forget that. I'm having people over for meals, game night, goodies etc. instead of being too busy till midnight on the 24th that I could care less about seeing anyone on Christmas day. -- Piggy's Pad

Denise, I think this is a *wonderful* idea!! I've gotten to the point that I almost dread Christmas, not because of "the reason for the season" but because it's become so darn commercialized. I usually feel so relieved when Christmas is over and I shouldn't feel that way. My kids are so darn easy to buy for since they provide very detailed lists and we always just send Craig and Holly a check for them to get whatever they might need or want. But we do have so much, not only as a couple but as a country, and we should be helping those less fortunate. Gerry's office has adopted five families this year, which is great! I like that idea. But to get back to your question, actually, my cats probably won't be getting anything for Christmas. I think my daughter is getting ME one of those "furminator" combs for the cats but that doesn't really count. I love this idea too...I've always said I wish people would quit buying me presents and give what money they would've spent to a charity of some kind...now for me, my preferance would be to an animal shelter or Zoo or something...but wherever is good.....I've often thought of doing that instead of buying and sending Christmas cards...but can't bring myself to quit buying them..so I just make sure to get them from the Humane Society....
