Denise, I think this is a *wonderful* idea!! I've gotten to the point that I almost dread Christmas, not because of "the reason for the season" but because it's become so darn commercialized. I usually feel so relieved when Christmas is over and I shouldn't feel that way. My kids are so darn easy to buy for since they provide very detailed lists and we always just send Craig and Holly a check for them to get whatever they might need or want. So it's not really even about the hassle of shopping, since I've passed Gerry's family shopping off completely to him. -- Piggy's Pad

But we do have so much, not only as a couple but as a country, and we should be helping those less fortunate. Gerry's office has adopted five families this year, which is great! I like that idea. But to get back to your question, actually, my cats probably won't be getting anything for Christmas. I think my daughter is getting ME one of those "furminator" combs for the cats but that doesn't really count.
