• So, we leave early Saturday and then when we get there, we shop all day (and I do mean ALL DAY) then back to the hotel room for a little "party" then up early on Sunday for breakfast, then sit in a four hour meeting and then turn around and drive three hours home!!!
  needless to say, by the time I get home on Sunday, I'm totally wiped out and exhausted......

  • Ah, yes, your big weekend. It's too bad that you're going to end up driving (I'd rather sleep than drive), especially since you're going to get to go shopping all day once you get there. I'd also have a hard time staying awake for a four hour meeting, unless it's really interesting. What kind of things do they cover during this meeting? Is it fun?     • I've been rather busy myself today. I kept the car and went for my mammogram at 7:30 a.m. The clinic has one of the new digital machines and it doesn't hurt or ache nearly as much as it used to. And I actually got to see the *films* before I left. Really neat. Then I was off for a haircut and scalp massage with my hairdresser. I took the top of my windmill to a welding shop to get it fixed (darn thing can't stand up to Kansas wind) and then picked Gerry up at lunchtime for a meeting.       • He brought me home since, after his meeting, he needs to go out to the American Legion and get the bills, etc. and get that stuff taken care of. At 3:30, we take Cricket and Snowy to the vet. Cricket needs another depo shot and Snowy's basically just going along for the ride. I'm not getting any of them shots any longer but Snowy does need a checkup. And the clinic staff has been wanting to meet Cricket's brother. By that time, it's home for dinner and to collapse. I've got a hookin tomorrow but I don't think I'm going to go. Although I don't think I'm infectious any more after two weeks of this crud, I don't want to expose anyone to my hacking and blowing, if I don't have to. And missing one month won't hurt anything.         • One thing I've noticed today, though, while out running around. Our foliage is beautiful!!! The oak trees and about half of the Bradford Pears have turned a brilliant red and the maples are red and/or yellow. When I drive down the big hill towards the mall, the colors are so pretty in the sunlight. And that reminds me,.....................Kate............did you get any snow today? And you, Ramona!!           • We've had snow showers off and on all day..not really much in accumulation..thank heavens...my poor Dad is a nervous wreck with me leaving town tomorrow with even a snow flurry in the air....and he doesn't even know I'm driving!!! Not telling him until I get home that the plans had changed and I ended up having to drive...don't want to upset him anymore than he already is...he just hates it when Rick and I go out of town, even for a day..but especially with me going over night this time....he just worries so much...but Rick will check on him off and on all weekend and he'll be fine.....             • I remembering your mentioning the last time you had this meeting that your Dad gets very nervous with you being on the road and out of town. I know he'll be okay with Rick checking on him and you're right in that there's no sense telling him about the change in plans and your driving since all it will do is upset him.           • They loved Snowy and he was a perfect gentleman for them. Cricket is holding his own and the lump, while still there, isn't causing any problems and still appears to possibly be getting a bit smaller. So we still wait on this.     • The meeting is kind of interesting...it's actually called "Innovations" and they give out awards and then tell us of any changes that WWmay be making to the program for the upcoming year....It's fun, but believe me, when it's over we are ready to head for home!!
      last year was my first one, and I actually won the award for the Rookie Receptionist of the Year.....that was kind of exciting for me, and defiitely a surprise!! (NT) -- Kate, 4:49:44 pm, Fri, 11/09/07
