Subject: This "is" strange! I guess it just goes to show you that you never, ever really *know* people, even if you think you do. I wonder if she's still working at the same office or if she's walked away from her entire life. It sounds like this whole situation caught her husband off guard, and for that, I feel sorry for him. Kind of a "been there, done that" kind of thing. One thing I've learned is that if you give people long enough and give them enough rope, they'll most often live *down* to your expectations. They'll lie, cheat on their husbands and just all round prove their paranoia and neurosis. But don't let it get to you, Kate. When it's not your problem and you can't control it, try to laugh. I do and believe me, it's made me a much happier person.
