Subject: And as much as I love the ocean, I also love the Flint Hills. Picture in your mind an Indian on a painted pony, riding over the swells of the land. When we drive the 2 hours between Topeka and Wichita on I-35, I love to look at the scenery because you can just "see" the Indians riding across the plains.
In reply to: Sandy 's message, "But if I could afford it, I'd be a snowbird. I'd love to spend the summers in downeast Maine (along the coast), since it doesn't get that hot there, and spend the winters either here or a bit further south. I love having four distinct seasons and wouldn't ever want to leave that but I couldn't cope with the fact that there was still snow in the woods in Maine in May. Here in Topeka, we have days in January where we can top 65-70 degrees. Two years ago, Christmas Day, we were close to 70 and didn't get any snow until well into January." on 11:01:43 am, Thu, 10/11/07
