Subject: Hi Sandy....(msg inside...afraid I'm going to get long.....)
In reply to: Sandy 's message, "An ethical question for the group................I've already asked Gerry and know what his response was. But I wanted to ask the people here what their opinion is. Someone who was a friend has broken a promise to me. This person said they would never do this one thing to me and he/she has now done it anyway. It was done in a roundabout manner but the end result is the same. Since the original promise has been broken, do you feel that I am still obligated to keep a promise to him/her? I'm just interested to see where you think the line should be drawn?" on 10:43:42 am, Thu, 10/11/07

To me, if this person has broken the promise to you..then in my eyes you are not obligated to that person to keep any promise you may have made to them.

To me, what you are obligated to do is follow your own heart and instincts. You owe absolutely nothing to that "friend" but you do owe it to yourself to think it over and do what your heart says is right...

This person obviously doesn't care about any promise they made to you (and perhaps to others?? if they can do something so underhanded to you..then you know you aren't the only one...) so in doing so, they broke any pact you may have had....

So, all-in-all, no I don't feel you are obligated to this person one iota...just follow your own heart Sandy, you can't go wrong.....
