Every vet I've ever had has told me stool samples have to be fresh or kept refrigerated. If left in room temp or heat for even an hour, the nasties in the sample can not show up for tests. If you continue to have runny poops, I'd see about having another sample tested. Even if refrigerated, try not to let the sample be more than 24 hours old. I've also been told Giardia is hard to catch until it gets pretty bad.... A dog or cat can test negative multiple times before a positive pops up.
