Subject: I didn't realize you could refrigerate a poop sample..I knew it had to be fresh...
our Vet always told us as long as it didn't get "hard" they could still test it....sometime (especially with Maggie) I will get the sample the night before the office visit, I always tell Dr. Lee this and she never seems concerned....

Also, keeping it in the car in the heat probably ruined the sample. Your best bet is FRESH, and if you can't immediately go to the vet with a sample, you have to keep it refrigerated.
