Date Posted: 21:25:44 05/23/05 Mon In reply to: Nitasha 's message, "silence" on 20:46:01 05/23/05 Mon Baylina watched in quiet observance over the child’s actions, knowing that the girl was only acting as she had been taught. “You may call me Baylina –or just Bay will work,” she told the girl calmly, “m’lady doesn’t suit someone like me.” The Sarmatian watched the child run off to gather what she had requested and when Nitasha said she would aid her, Baylina accepted the offer. She held out her arm for the girl, granting her permission, and she even nodded her appreciation. She could sense the girl’s fear, though she did not understand it, nor did she question it –yet. “Nitasha…” Bay said out loud, repeating the name in a light manner. The girl’s nervousness almost made Baylina smile, but she kept it to herself and thought carefully over her next choice of words; the girl was obviously afraid of her. ‘Lyra…she was afraid of me at first too.’ She thought before shaking her head to rid of the annoying flashbacks that haunted her mind. “I’m not going to hurt you,” Baylina finally said in an attempt to appease the child’s nerves. Her words were a bit off, since she was still learning the language, but other than that, she spoke the language fluently enough for Nitasha to understand. She supposed that the earlier events gave the girl every right to fear her, but what honor would Bay have killing a child who assisted her? Although she had come from a nomadic tribe, the people were not savages, nor did they roam without a set of codes that stayed with a person his or her whole life. However, Baylina took into consideration that the child was young and probably did not understand; on the other hand, no one understood –it had been the problem from the very beginning for her; and Bay knew it probably would never come to an end.
