This motor is cuttently at machine shop getting refreshed. It has eagle crank, eagle H beam rods, Ross dome top pistons, Edelbrock victor jr heads and intake, 950 carb, Moroso electric water pump, moroso oil pan, MSD pro billet Dist. and wires, main and stud girdles, Harland sharp roller rockers, ClaySMith solid roller cam, Aerospace Components vaccum pump. This is a turnkey motor for $6000.00 I have been 9.90s on motor with 1.30 60ft and on a 150 shot its been 570s with 1.20 60ft in a mustang. 409 293-9908

I have a set of the Hedman Hustler 65090 which are 2 1/4 inch tubes with 4 inch collectors. They have slip fit collectors with split flanges. These have brand new coating on them. They have not been on a car since they were coated. They will fit 68-72 nova or 67-69 camaro with a big block chevy. I am looking to trade for a set like the Hooker super comps with the 2 1/8 inch tubes and 3.5 inch collectors. Must be for 68-72 nova with Big block chevy. I have a street car with a pump gas motor with full exhaust and these are a little more than I need. Looking for a set that are coated and in as good as condition as mine. These are $910 from hedman uncoated and at least $300-$400 more for coating so please no junk.

Joe, At the NMRA race this last weekend,
Angel Padilla from San Antonio, Texas showed the True Street guys how it's really done in Texas only qualifying #7 due to a disconnected plug wire after the 30 mile cruise down I-10. Then, 3 back to back passes down the dragstrip were done without touching the car on Saturday but still made the top 16 car field for Sunday's Shootout. On Sunday, Angel took the win all 4 rounds running a 8.20, 8.19. 8.18 and a 8.30 in the Final. Angel also had the quickest ET and MPH for the weekend in Tremec True Street class with a 8.189 @ 174.21 MPH. Pretty damn Impressive!!

I'm trying to figure a few things out about a auto meter fuel gauge isolator. I have all the lines and fittings to install one in a remote location but the lines I have are -03. I called the jegs tech line and he said I had to use -04 because that's what the isolator is calibrated for, is this true or will it make any difference?

iT DOESN'T MATTER. Run anything but if the needle bounces, bleed the air. you can use antifreeze to fill a line if you have to make a longer one.

So what's it going to be after all? Why not limit the turbos to 78's or 80's being that there is not much difference from the 76's, I know this is far fetched, but it sure would help us small blocks with true street cars out a bit. Just asking so please don't jump all over me, spoke with several street racers who are interested but just can't afford to buy a new turbo! Just asking? It's kinda like the large frame kennebell's that actually puts out 24 to 28 lbs of boost, how are you going to limit them, they are cooled by a water box with ice! Something to conside!!!

i have 12 names of commited players there is probly more but don't have real names. were trying to limit the turbo size to keep a even playing feild just like limiting the nitrous, it is not even a thought of allowing any kind of air to water. i dont care how far you can drive it. now as far as the 7531 &7530t boxes programable, i know kenny hubbard went 5.23 on 8.5s with out any kind of launch retard in his box so just a matter of tuning and any of us can do it, but we still have to controll the turbo cars so i dont know if allowing the boxes is a good thing. but if you guys think it will work will give it a try.

JOE, MY CAR FITS THE CLASS EXCEPT FOR THE FRT FRAME RAIL RULE. IT HAS THE HEIDTS FRT UNIBODY THAT IS A BOLT IN REPLACEMENT. IT IS A LEGIT STREET CAR THAT STILL WEIGHS 3300 LBS. now you need to make up mind, i asked you joe if we run this class last time before i spent $8,000 on my 23* motor and you cancelled the class even though we had cars at every race. i need to know now before i start on the new car. i dont mind running 5.80 class at least theres no bitching. this class is nothing like 5.80 index. this is heads up, and close to equil cars, this is for alot of freinds that like racing each other for fun. more for the budget racer that can take a stock block and cast piston and be compeditive. i dont see wear bolt on subframes is a problem, and digital boxes suddent be a problem, we all can make this tire hook. as long as the turbo cars dont get out of control, maybe make them weigh with the big block and allow the controllers. need to know asap.

i just bought a '94 cobra mustang. has a 5.0
car sat in a garage for 7 years with engine partially
disassembled. owners dog has made a snack out of much of the wiring harness.
it is equipped with a jacobs ultra coil & ignition box. i believe i rewired correctly from modern diagrams that i transposed to the older system.
it has no spark. there is a yellow led on the front of the
ignition block. sometimes it flashes. sometimes it is solid. not sure what that means. the yellow led is under the 'input' message. the 'output' side does not light up.
also... if i by pass the ignition box straight to the factory harness - still no spark.
any guesses on the specs for the ultra coil ?
the jacobs electronics web site is limited. no specs or
obsolete diagrams.
p.s. i have almost zero Ford experience. you'll need to type slowly for me to follow any ford speak.

I been waiting all year to say "Unleash da Beast" and we did last nite in evadale.We had a 8 car shootout first and we won that then we back doored and won the event. "That was the coolest shit of the year rite there".So now we are going to send the motor back to gene to freshen it up so we can get it ready for the 2010 season. We have 4 kits on it now and got room for one more to make it 5 kits.Im going to ask Big John if we can put da number 5 on the motor so we can run in the 50's and get it ready for the big 20'000 dollars true 10.5 race in geogia

I'm planning on mounting my 6al box, blaster 2 coil and all of my other crap under the dash instead of the firewall. My question is, is it necesary to use a firewall feed through for my coil wire. I was planning on just pulling one of the boots off, drilling a hole plenty big enough for the coil wire and then use a rubber grommet for the hole, then run the wire through the hole and crimp the end back on. Will this work or do I need the feed through?

My personal experience, I have a 8-71 blown 509 makes 1080 hp
12 psi boost, using both a MSD thru fire wall bulkhead, and a MSD 6-AL box, no problems. going on 3 years with this setup.
just close the gap a bit and run a colder plug.

the clockspring is actually a plastic tape with 4-6 printed circuits on it coiled up in a plastic housing..plastic is going to do what plastic does best and that is break..the part will likely be 3 figures and labor should be 1 hour shop rate...there is also an air bag control module in the instrument panel or kick panel...those have been known to fail; but not very often..that can get expensive..the air bag lite may be flashing a 2 digit code, like 52 for example...

Owner of that car is a friend of a friend. Guy was from the Lufkin area. The owner buys and sells quite a few high dollar exotics like that. So it wasn't a matter of not being able to afford the car and wanting to get rid of it. Someone said if you play the video slow and zoom it, you can see the bird standing in the middle of the road. I can't see it and it doesn't appear that he yanks the wheel. Looks more like he might have been talking on the phone and dropped it, leaned down to grab it and veered off the road.

I have a big block chevy that has been sitting about 2.5 years. It was fresh from being built when stored. Only ran long enough for break in and to cut filter. The engine is froze up from sitting. every thing in the bottom end looks new. Cyclinders on the bottom side look like new also. ANy ideas on how to free it up. I really didn't want to have to have have it torn down and gone through again.

You can get what they call Ringfree from the Yamaha shop that is supposed to be badass. Could just water down some auto trans fluid with some mineral spirits also and pour it in and let it set. That ringfree even helps to restore compression on old bikes that have been sitting. Now if there is much rust in there, then the rings will act like scrapers and the rust will end up possibly making the rings stick in their grooves.

Thunder Road will be reopened next year 2010. That is the message sent by the OWNERS.
We talked it over this weekend and decided , due to many different issues, that it was time to close down the track for the winter. We are going to re-evaluate every aspect of the track this winter and try to make it a better experience for everyone next year. We do appreciate all of the support from the racers and the fans and we hope to have your support next year. The Bracket races on November 21st and all other test and tunes this year will be canceled also.

Sam ran the track for the owners and yes he was told that the weekend hours he worked were going towards buying his interest in the track. Several people know that to be fact (because they heard it said by the owners).And all Sam was told when he got the call was that the two owners had talked over the weekend and it was strictly a bussiness decession they were closing the track, for him to put the lock on the gates. So until the message came up on the thunder road forum he was under the assumption it was for good. And he did not go calling everyone telling lies and bad mouthing. His phone started ringing off the hook when something was posted on the board by someone else about the track closing, I listened to him take phone calls over and over and all I heard him say is exactly what they told him "It was strictly a bussiness decession, close it down and put the locks on the gate. And that he had no idea what they planned on doing he had heard several rummors but did'nt know what was truth and what was'nt." I'm sure there will be all kinds of shit said, no doubt.Exspecially by all the no name jealous Sam haters. I can tell you first hand he did NOT go around calling everyone he knows and tell them anything. I was one of the ones that called him to confirm a rumor about the track closing. He told me EXACTLY what Patti posted directly above. Furthermore I can confirm he was buying an interst in the track with labor. If you have a beef with SAM,you should be a man and talk to HIM,dont air it out on the internet. Lastly,he did a good job considering the late start,very limited budget,terrible rain,and VERY high expectations from the owners and racers.Gerry

Being that I have been married to him for 23 years, I kinda feel like an expert on the subject of the real Sam Harvey. Why no et streets,after all the streets are dot approved,just limit it to a certain size, you can get a 325 drag radial that is a 28tall 10.5 tread so limit the street to a comparable size tire
One aftermarket power adder ok,sounds reasonable,
Regular .500 tree, keeps it even for the sportsman
But one thing you are missing is at least a 20 mile cruise,this one thing alone seperates the street car from the big cammed high compression motors that will overheat and are defineatly NOT a street car

The car never had a/c and I definetly don't want to have to jack with putting power steering back on. Ive driven this car all over Houston it has a pump gas big block with a nitrous kit on it. I can guarantee I drive my car more on the street than most of these cars even thouvh it does get some shitty gas mileage.

we have the same problem as yall!!! No power steering or a/c in a 1980 chevy luv truck. I've run multiple true street races where a cruise was needed. My a/c is 50mph with the windows down and power steering who needs that honestly, we arent drifting. 275 Drag radials only and one power adder sbc limited to 2 stages on plate or 1 on fogger. bbc limited to single stage plate or fogger.
We have stock suspension, 275 radials, all glass except rear window, stock interior, frame is stil intact with the exception of notching it.
We would like to run this class!!!
Thats 4 more car that could run and I'm sure there is more out there.
