JOE, I just had to say thanks for the commentary. It was great. I have a few things to say. I hope you don't mind.
Yes, Jason is amazingly dedicated to what he does. He loves drag racing.....and he has come to love the ole "69 BOSS". I always told him that we would convert him to be a Ford man. LOL. At least he has the Billy Glidden shirt. Jason has basically worked miracles on the car. Several folks told him, "don't be surprised if the car does not ever work!" Well, it did. Thanks to Jason. When we first started our "team", I asked him what he wanted me to do. He said, "Nothing, just sit in the chair and be ready to drive." Well, no argument from me. I used to do it all back it the early 70's. I have a real 1969 Boss 302 Mustang that Wayne Woods (the other old guy in the photo) and I used to race back in the 70's. It was a 4 speed stick and I could shift it like an automatic. We put many a Chevrolet on the trailer back then. Well, I married my lovely, beautiful wife Diana and we raised 5 kids. AND, now, 25 years later, we are at it again. Diana used to come with us all the time. She kind of just pulled back after our son, Clinton, died a year and a half ago. It has been unbelievably tough on us. Clinton used to drive the car.
I like having Jason do the tuning. The nitros stuff is kinda out of my league. Again, Jason does a great job and is really a nitros genius. AND yes, his wife Heather, is very supportive. AND, she does a fantastic job of videoing the car. Thanks, Heather. I do love driving the car. I learned to drive on the country back roads back in Yoakum,Texas, and remember, I am very familiar with this particular car. My older brother actually bought it brand new back in 1969.
Jeff Wahlberg did build the motor..........that is why it is still together. With Jeff's amazingly ability to build a motor and Jason's conservative tuneup we were able to get through the season.
We were just very fortunate Saturday night. Anyone out there could have easily won. Jason just figured out the tuned up to get the car to go down the track. Yes, there is a lot of skill involved, but there is also another factor involved. Joe, I know that you are a some what liberal person, but you also know that I am a Christian, so therefore I give the praise and glory to my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. As I mentioned earlier in the year, "WE ARE AMAZINGLY BLESSED"!!!!!!!!! (Romans 8:28)
Joe, thanks so much for promoting the TXDRL and allowing us to be a part of it. We look forward to next year. I know that we have our work cut out for us next year. I mean: a Ford winning; a Ford with a Ford motor winning; IT JUST AIN'T RIGHT!!!!!!!! Thanks for the time. Have a most blessed day.

ok guys i was talking to a few guys about getting the evil street class back going. the 8.5 class has just got out of hand and use budget guys would like something to do. even if we had to do a jack pot race to get it going. all rules would be voted on. maybe even all pay a small fee to vote and that could go towards a pump to keep out the big motors. some basic rules was and will be voted on no 315 radials our we can just say 275 65 only, 410 small blocks and 480 big blocks all conventional 23* single plate with 82 max jet no digtial boxs, no nos controllers. all stock suspention. what you guys think.

I vote for 275 drag radials, but we need some other way to keep it "budget". I bet you could slap some 275 radials on that s10/Taz and have it running some 20s or better within an outing.

Yeah, now that I read the paragraph again this morning I dont feel like I read it at all last night!! As a matter of fact I probably just glanced and saw 275 and made my post. Just got back from a no sleep Dallas swap meet weekend and got excited when I saw 275 along with thomas in the same post.... damn old Model A might fit in that shit....plate on top of a little old blower is ok huh? lol.

Sounds like a great idea for a budget class. Somebody go wake up Andy Legg.

If you guys are thinking about drag radials class, TTT5 up in Dallas has a great D/R class and got a good control on it. Check out there rules. If you keep things simular, some of the Dallas guys will come down and join you all, or you all can go up there.

Modified street and true street both would be a good place to start looking. I say conventional heads, 275 radials, one plate and FUCK limiting the jet all thats gonna do is make high dollars motors win and nothing about that is BUDGET! Trevor and Garland both DO NOT have 7531 boxes in there cars one 1 kit and they are the fastest cars in their class so that just proves that the box will not make these cars faster!!!!

Starting with the Dallas True Street rules for the first couple races and then make adjustments is a good idea. That way the class is not build around any specific cars and only 4 rules!

To be competetive last night all Martin Keefer needed was a 3225lb. 89 Mustang with stock style rear suspension (still has factory rear coil springs sitting on mega byte JR lower control arms), TRUE 10.5" tires, and a 9.8" deck BBC with a single carb with 1 plate and 1 fogger. No NOS controller, no 7531, no beadlock wheels, nothing fancy about Martin's car. Just a lot of runs and knowing your car and what it takes to get it to hook and go down the track. The air was cool and dry rewarding Martin with his personal best of 5.05 at 147 which he ran 3 times in a row. It felt good racing against cars with 14" slicks, 2 carbs and 3 kits with pontiac and olds headed big blocks and being able to hang with them.

the the slick on the right is smaller than the one on the left. (by an inch or 2)
if that ain't it then check the wheel base by triangulating.

pick a center point between the front tires, and it has to be close. plus or minus 1/16 or less.
Then recheck the wheel base to the center of the right slick vs the left slick. Remove the slicks if you have to.
It is shorter on the right side. stretch it to equal the left. (or shorten the left)

the front end may have a stagger (one tire in front of the other-it is not uncommon) between right and left,
so perform the triangle to check?

I also presume you have a spool instead of a posi?
if you have a posi then it comes into play, but check the other stuff first, prior to looking for the weak side of a posi.

I JUST WROTE 3 LINES ABOVE BUT THERE IS A BIGGER STORY IN HERE... IT IS HARD TO CAPTURE IN FEW LINES WHAT REALLY HAPPENED THIS YEAR. WE HAD 5 CARS SHOW TONITE FOR TUFF STREET AND I APPRECIATE IT, THEY ARE THE DEDICATED, WE GOT SOME DRIFTERS THAT COME RUN FROM TIME TO TIME AND I APPRECIATE THEM ALSO.

I GOTTA SAY SOMETHING ABOUT GARLANDS CREW CHIEF AND I BET GARLAND WILL AGREE. JASON REMINDES ME OF MYSELF WHEN I TOOK A STAB AT RACING YEARS BACK. GARLAND IS DEDICATED BUT JASON GRACE IS SERIOUSLY DEDICATED TO THE "BOSS 69" TUFF STREET MUSTANG. I GET TO TALK WITH JASON SOMETIMES IN THE PITS AND SOMETIMES AT THE STARTING LINE, I FEEL LIKE WE'RE FRIENDS. JEFF WARBURGER (sp) I WOULD SAY DOES THE MOTOR BUT I SHOULD SAY DID THE MOTOR. JASON GRACE BACKHALVED THE MUSTANG AND DOES THE ENGINE TUNING AND CHASSIS TUNING. iT'S SORTA A HOME MADE CAR BUT A NICE PIECE, NOTHING REAL FANCY. THE ENGINE HAS NOT BEEN OUT OF THE CAR THIS YEAR RAN A BEST OF SOME 5.00'S -TONITE GARLAND WAS IN THE 5.TEENS, I THINK HE MAY HAVE MADE THE FASTEST PASSES OF THE NITE!!

BACK TO THE ENGINE, JASON DIDN'T HURT THE MOTOR WITH HIS TUNE UP ALL YEAR, I THINK THE MAIN REASON IF THE MOTOR GOES BACK TO JEFF'S THE DOWN TIME MAYBE A YEAR WOULD KILL JASON, LOL!! I THINK ANOTHER GOOD THING GARLAND SITS BACK AND GRINS AS JASON POURS OUT THE SWEAT. NOW I'M JUST GUESSING BUT WHEN JASON SAYS LETS DO THIS, GARLAND GOES FOR IT. I LIKE THAT!~ I LIKE THE SERIOUS LOOK ON JASONS FACE, IT'S LIKE IF THE CAR DON'T DO GOOD SOMEBODY IS GONNA SET HIM ON FIRE, LOL. GARLAND GOES INTO SERIOUS MODE WHEN HE GETS BEHIND THE WHEEL. JASON COULD NOT FIND A BETTER DRIVER, GARLAND KNOWS THAT MUSTANG JUST LIKE THE BACK OF HIS HAND...... JASONS SECRET TO HIS SUCCESS IS HIS WIFE, VERY SWEET PERSON.. YOU GOTTA HAVE A GOOD WIFE BEHIND YOU TO SAY "YES HONEY THATS A GREAT IDEA"... AS YOUR MUBMLING THRU YOUR PROBLEMS YOU NEED HER TO SAY "UNHUH" ABOUT EVER 2 MINUTES!! THEY JUST HAD A NEW BABY AND I GUESS MOMMA TIMED IT RIGHT AFTER A RACE.. I DON'T REMEMBER HER MISSING AN EVENT, SURE WISH I COULD REMEMBER HER NAME--- SHE GONNA KILL ME! I GUESS TIMING YOUR NEWBORN SO YOU WON'T MISS AN EVENT, I THINK WE CAN SAY THATS DEDICATION, LOL!!

ANYWAY THERE IS JUST NO WAY TO TELL THIS STORY, GARLAND DEBORD'S "BOSS 69" IS THE TUFF STREET POINTS CHAMPION.. YEP THERE WERE FASTER CARS IN TUFF STREET BUT THESE GUYS JUST KEPT CHIPPING AWAY ALL YEAR LONG AND CHIPPED THEIRSELVES INTO THE WINNERS CIRCLE- CONGRATS GUYS....

WE GOT ANOTEHR FORD AS THE POINTS CHAMPION... JAY KNOT WITH HIS BLUE MUSTANG WON THE POINT IN THE HOTTEST CLASS IN THE HISTORY OF DRAG RACING- JAY IS OUR 2009 8.5 OUTLAW POINTS CHAMPION, CONGRATS JAY AND STRICTLY PERFORMANCE!! TRIANGLE SPEED WON THE 8.5 OUTLAW TONITE, CONGRATS ON THEIR WIN...

I DON'T KNOW JAY AS GOOD AS I DO GARLAND AND JASON.... JAY IS SORTA SMALLER THAN ME, BY A BUNCH! HE IS ANOTHER SERIOUS FACE. JAY IS SORTA "A BEHIND TRHE SCENES GUY". I DON'T THINK I HAD EVER NOTICED JAY'S BLUE PONY UNTIL WE STARTED THIS 8.5 DEAL. A FEW MONTHS BACK WERE WERE RUNNING 5.50'S.. THERE WAS JAY. WENT TO 5.40S THERE WAS JAY'S BLUE MUSTANG, THEN I GOT TO NOTICING WHO IS THIS GUY AND WHAT THE HELL IS HE RUNNING AND HOW IS HE GOING SO DAMN FAST WITH A FORD!! JAY RAN IN THE 30'S AND TONITE RAN A 5.29 WITH A MOD MOTOR, AFTERMARKET BUT FACTORY STYLE BLOWER AND JUST A DOSE OF NOS. FOR A SECOND KIT, JAY DON'T EVER SAY A LOT BUT HE DID TELL ME TONITE, HE WAS WATCHING I FORGET WHAT CAR BUT WHEN THEY WENT OUT JAY SAID WELL I'M THE 8.5 OUTLAW POINTS CHAMPION!! PRETTY COOL FOR A GUY I HADN'T NOTICED BEFORE!! JAY SORTA "QUITE-ED" HIMSELF IN HERE AND STUNG ALL OF US, LOL... GREAT JOB JAY AND I APPRECIATE YOU RUNNING WITH THE TXDRL...

WE JUST HAD A HECK OF A TIME TONITE IN THE 8.5 OUTLAW CLASS, 11 CARS SHOWED AND MOST WERE ALL IN THE 5.30'S- 5.20'S.. LOUISIANA'S SAM HARVEY WAS PUTTING A WHIIPIN ON US FIRST ROUND OF QUALIFYING.. SMOOTH 5.25 YOU EVER SEEN!! HIS SON JUSTIN WITH HIS 69 CAMARO WAS IN THE BOTTOM 5.30'S.. MIKE BUTAFUCCO WENT A 5.28 WITH HIS "IRON HORSE".. NOW I AIN'T EXACTLY SURE WHEN THIS WENT DOWN.. MAYBE FIRST OR SECOND ROUND BU THE "IRONMAN" KENNY HUBBARD THROWS DOWN A 5.23 - FASTEST PASS I HAVE SEEN WITH THE 26X8.5 TIRES!! I THOUGHT KENNY HAD THE RECORD WITH THAT PASS BUT AFTER CHECKING SAM HARVEYS 5.2308 WAS FASTER THAN KENNY'S 5.2399... TRIANGLE SPEED WAS RUNNING BOTTOM 5.30'S ALL NIGHT, THEY HAD A REPLACEMENT HEAD ON 1 SIDE OF THE MOTOR, THEY WERE NOT 100%..

OK KLINT LABLANC aka "RED TAZZ" HAD THE SMALL BLOCK S-10 OUT, ROBERT OWNS THE TRUCK, KLINT IS SUPPLYING THE DRIVE TRAIN- THEY SHOOT THE TIRES OFF FIRST ROUND , THEY ARE OUT. WELL KLINT GETS WITH THE GUYS AND THEY DO A SECOND CHANCE RACE... GET THIS KLINT GOES A 5.19 @ 140 MPH HE'S AT #2970, SEVENTY POUNDS OVER THE TXDRL CLASS MIN OF #2900.. EVERYONE AGREES IF HE CAN BACK IT UP, HE GOT THE RECORD, KLINT TRIES BUT SHE DON'T HOLD THE TRACK THIS TIME.. KLINT AND THE 'TAZZ CREW GETS THE FIRST IN THE TEENS AWARD!! WE WERE ALL THINKING THE IRON MAN WOULD BE FIRST IN THE TEENS, MAYBE SAM HARVEY----> NOPE THE VARMINT DONE SNUCK IN AND STOLE THE CHEESE WITH EVERYBODY WATCHING, LOL!!... AND IT DID GET A LITTLE HEATED IN THE BEER DRINKING CIRCLE AFTER THE RACE WAS OVER... KLINT WAS GETTING THE "IRONMAN" FIRED, KLINTS GOT THAT "SNARKIE LOOK" HE CAN PUT ON YOUR ASS WHEN HE WANTS TO, LOL.. WE STARTED TAKING BETS, EVEN WITH KENNY 1 ARM TIED BEHIND HIS BACK - THE MONEY WAS STILL ON HIM... I SAID TIE ONE ARM AND YOU COULD STAB KENNY - HE WILLS TILL WIN, LOL.. I WOULD HATE TO SEE THE IRONMAN TURN INTO A "FLAING MACHINE"..ANYWAY IT'S ALL GOOD, WASN'T MUCH MORE THAN A BEE STING ON AN ELEPHANT- KLINT KNEW WHEN HE WAS "AT RISK" AND BACKED IT DOWN- ACTUALLY WE WERE ALL HAVING FUN.. DON'T FUCK WITH "IRONMAN", ANYWAY HE LEFT HAPPY.. WE WARZ DRINKING BEER AND HAVING A BIG TIME AFTER A SUPER RACE... "SNARKIE" I LIKE THAT!

PAT GRISBY WON THE 5.80 PRO INDEX POINTS, I THINK HE WENT OUT EARLY TONITE.. YOU GUYS GOTTA FORGIVE ME, I'M GOING BRAIN DEAD -IT'S 5AM. I WAS ONLY GOING TO WRITE A FEW LINES.. MAYBE SOME OF YOU EARLY BIRDS CAN HELP WITH THE WINNERS FROM TONITE... I'LL GET THE WINNER UP TOMORROW

I WANT TO THANK EVERYONE FOR THE GREAT START THE TXDRL HAS THIS YEAR.. THE FANS WERE DOWN FOR THIS EVENT, DON'T WORRY NEXT YEAR WILL BE SOME GREAT SHOWS.. THANKS AGAIN, JOE & PEG

You guys did an awesome job this year and all your hard work paid off.

On another note, it was good to see Big Jerry and Dorris out at the track last night. I say Big Jerry, well he ain't so big any more. We might have to start calling him Little Jerry. He lost a lot of weight and is looking real good and in better health. Glad to see yall and can't wait to see you back in the car.

First I want to say is.. TO BEAT SOMEBODY YOU GOT TO BE THERE, NOT SITTING AT HOME ON THE COMPUTER WAITING ON THE STATS.

You guys have shown your stuff in a powerful way this year. I enjoyed leading you guys and being prompt to the line when called. You guys are a need of a big thumbs up for the effort you all put into this year. Like Garland always say, God Bless, and he was behind you all the way.
Looking forward to see you all next year in points chase for next year and going for an second year championship.

While I am here... To the Tuff Street guys of 09 TXDRL
I had a good time working with you guys, and thanks for not giving me a hard time on getting you guys to the line. I enjoy what I do. We got a lot to work on for next year.
I thank Joe & Trevor for giving me the chance to keep the rope on you guys.
Also thanks to the Austin guys for slipping in every chance they could get to help us make a good show and getting the Houston guys on there toes. We missed you guys this weekend.
Looking forward for next year, and being your new co-ordinator for TUFF STREET 2010.

Coach,
Thanks for the Congrats. As I mentioned to Trevor, Jason worked very hard to get the car to come around. See, miracles DO still happen! LOL. Yes, we do give the praise to our God, Jesus Christ. Thanks for mentioning that. We too look forward to racing with all you guys next year. Be Blessed! Proverbs 3:5&6.

Trevor,
Thanks! Jason worked very hard on the car and figured out how to get it to go down the track Saturday night. Anyone of ya'll could have won, but we were just very fortunate. Chad Baker and I tried our best to get Dwight Cannon out of the way. LOL. As I mentioned to you earlier this year, "We are very fortunate and amazingly blessed". We really enjoyed racing with all you guys this year. Thanks again.

I have a 509, Wiesco Pistons, Oliver rods, GM Performance Parts forged crank, around 11 to 1 compression, 1.645 compression height on the piston, Comp custom hydraulic roller camshaft cam with .647 lift, Moroso pan, 31 passes on new Comp springs, Comp roller lifters, less than 100 on the entire motor. GM Aluminium heads (12363391 GM part number 2.25/1.88 valves), 290cc intake runner that flow 330 at .700 lift, 320 at .600 lift. Harland sharp roller rockers 1.7. I shift the motor at 6400 and it goes through the 1/8th at 6100. Runs 5.66@122 in the 1/8th. Haven't run it in the 1/4 but should run 8.80's or 8.90's; that is with a 4.10 gear and a 33x16x15 tire and a tight convertor in a 2500lb truck. The motor was built for no maint. Selling it from ATI balancer to flywheel and from Victor 454 intake to Moroso pan. motor makes 722hp and 670 Tq. Motor has never had any spray or anything on it.

$6500 or best offer

This is a newer model boss block, not an old block. Eagle forged 4340 3.4" stroke crank, Eagle forged 4340 h-beam rods
Probe forged flat top pistons, SFI balancer and flexplate (flexplate was for a powerglide, not sure on bolt pattern)
(rotating assembly should handle 1k horsepower with no problems), Solid flat tappet cam currently in motor, also will include 6.xx lift solid roller and solid roller lifters, TFS Twisted Wedge heads with a quick 3 angle valve job on them and upgraded springs to handle above camshafts, 1.6 stud mounted roller rockers (7/16" I believe), Victor Jr intake matched to heads, 750HP Carb, Aftermarket oil pan
MSD distributor and wires, NX Nitrous plate adjustable from 50-300 horsepower, Ford Motorsport polished valve covers, he was using 1 3/4 ceramic coated headers to 3" collectors, but sold those with the car.

This motor has been 6.60s in the 1/8 on motor and 10.50s in the 1/4 on motor at 2900 lbs race weight. Yes that is with the out of the box twisted wedge heads!!!
On a 200 shot on a 26x8.5" tire he went 5.85 to the 1/8 and a 1.3x sixty foot.

He is asking $6000 obo for the motor carb to pan including the nitrous plate. Contact Donnie H 832-597-three six zero seven. Donnie has won 6.60 a few times with this motor at TXDRL and S&S.

Also check the o-ring that seals the seat into the body. They tend to dry and harden which causes them not to seal and leak.

now that the war is over lol maybe we can all get together at this race and maybe get a few people in charge of the class to help with things that need to be handled at each race . i know help is always hard to find but if were gonna make this class great we need some leaders to take charge and help i will step up cause i know everyone cant always be at every race so its gonna take more than joe and kenny and since my son drives maybe ill have time to help out and im sure there are others just something to think about for next year

I DO NEED HELP! THE 8.5 OUTLAW CLASS AND THE TXDRL WILL BE AS GOOD AS WE ALL MAKE IT! COACH AND TREVOR HAS BEEN GREAT HELP. JASON ON THE SCALES... THE GUYS IN THE INDEX CLASSES KEITH, LANDRUM, GIDDENS AND SEVERAL OTHERS HELP A BUNCH AT EACH EVENT AND I APPRECIATE IT.

WE GOT SOME STUFF TO WORK OUT FOR NEXT YEAR... ONE OF THE MAIN THINGS I WANT TO DO IS BE FINISHED BY 11:30 -SO THE FANS CAN SEE THE FINAL ROUNDS.\\

SHORT COMMENTARY:
OVER THE LAST 10 YEARS LOCAL DRAG RACING EVENTS HAVE LOST A LOT OF FANS. IF YOU GUYS WANT DECENT PAYOUTS WE HAVE TO HAVE THE FANS FOR SUPPORT.

WE DO HAVE A "HARD CORE" SUPPORT GROUP AND I THINK THEY JUST LIKE ABUSE IS WHY THEY KEEP COMING BACK, LOL. SERIOUSLY THE HARD CORE GROUP DON'T SEEM TO MIND WHEN THE RACE GETS STRETCHED OUT PAST MIDNITE, 2-3AM... BUT THE NEW FAN, THE FIRST, SECOND TIMERS ARE NOT ENTERTAINED WHEN THINGS SLOW DOWN.

I THINK IT IS OUR FAULT THE FAN BASE HAS DWINDLED AWAY. WE HAD 'EM AT 1 TIME, WE HAVE TO KEEP THE RACE FUN AND EXCITING. I'M NOT THE BEST ON THE MIC BUT IT'S ALL WE HAVE -I TRY AND KEEP THE FANS INFORMED BEST I CAN. **IF ANYONE WOULD LIKE TO SPELL ME OFF ON THE MIC LET ME KNOW AND I'LL GIVE YOU A TRYOUT -GONNA HAVE TO BE SOMEONE KNOWLEDGEABLE ABOUT DRAG RACING AND I SURE COULD USE THE HELP-**.

OK WHAT I WANT TO TALK ABOUT IS TURN=A-ROUND TIME. MY EVENTS I TRY AND KEEP CARS GOING DOWN THE LANES, I TRY AND KEEP THE FANS ENTERTAINED, IN THE HOUSTON AREA WE HAVE EVERYTHING FROM WHORE HOUSES TO TEMPLES AND EVERYTHING IN BETWEEN - WE'RE ALL COMPETING FOR THE ENTERTAINMENT DOLLAR AND I THINK WE HAVE A VERY GOOD PRODUCT TO SELL.

FIRST AND FOREMOST WE HAVE TO SELL FUN, SECOND DRAG RACING! WE SHOULD BE ABLE TO INCREASE THE PAYOUTS BY HALF AGAIN IF WE WERE ALL ON THE SAME PAGE. WE HAVE TO KEEP CARS GOING DOWN THE TRACK, THAT'S WHAT PEOPLE ARE SETTING IN THE STANDS TO SEE.

RACERS WILL TAKE AS MUCH TIME BETWEEN ROUNDS AS YOU WILL GIVE THEM... LAST RACE I PUSHED PRETTY HARD AND YOU KNOW WHAT EVERYONE KEEP UP THE PACE. I HONESTLY HAD A COUPLE OF RACERS SAY THANKS FOR KEEPING THE EVENT MOVING...

RACES JUST DRAG OUT BECAUSE NOBODY REALIZES WE HAVE A PROBLEM. ONCE YOU REALIZE THERE IS A PROBLEM WE CAN SOLVE IT. UNLESS THERE IS A REVOLT I WANT TO PUT MORE IMPORTANCE ON THE PIT CREWS, NO LONGER WILL THEY JUST BE A BUDDY THAT RIDES TO THE TRACK WITH YOU.. THEY WILL BE AS VALUABLE AS A FRESH SET OF SPARK PLUGS!! TELL 'EM THAT NEXT TIME THEY GET IN THE TRUCK, LOL

WE'RE GOING TO WORK ON TURN AROUND TIME AND GETTING BACK TO THE LANES FOR THE NEXT ROUND. THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH HAVE A GREAT PIT CREW, THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE PIT CREW BEING A VALUABLE ASSET - A KEY INGREDIENT TO WINNING.

I SAY WE ALL NEED TO IMPROVE TO GET THE SHOW FINISHED BY 11:30pm.. THE TRACK CREW DOES AN EXCELLENT JOB WITH THEIR CLEANUP.. THERE ARE TIME WE COULD USE A LITTLE MORE SPRING IN THEIR STEP.. WE ALL CAN DO A BETTER JOB ON FINISHING BY 11:30, THE FANS WILL GET TO SEE A COMPLETE SHOW.. AND BEST OF ALL THEY CAN DEFINE WHO THEIR HERO'S ARE AND WHO THEIR ZERO'S ARE!! WE WANT THE FANS TO BE INVOLVED, WE WANT THEM TO HAVE FAVORITE DRIVERS, WE WANT THEM TO MINGLE IN THE PITS!! I DON'T MEAN NO DISRESPECT BUT THE RACERS HAVE OVERLOOKED THE FANS LONG ENOUGH -IT'S TIME TO INCLUDE THE FANS IN OUR PROGRAM..

WHEN WE GET A NEW PERSON OUT WE WANT THEM BACK AND BACK AND BACK, THEY AIN'T COMING BACK IF IT'S 2AM AND WE AIN'T DONE... LETS TRY IT FOR A WHILE, DOESN'T COST ANYONE- A QUICK TURNAROUND TIME AND AN EFFICIENT CREW COULD BE FUN.. MIGHT BE FUN TO BE HEADED BACK TO THE LANES GRINNING WATCHING YOUR OPPONENT STRUGGLING BECAUSE OF SLOPPY WORK HABITS!! YOU BRING A BATTERY CHARGER, YOU BRING FUEL, YOU BRING TOOLS, BRING AN EFFICIENT CREW, LEAVE THE KNOTT HEADS AT HOME.

I LOOK FORWARD TO SATURDAYS RACE I'M GLAD THE 8.5 TURMOIL IS BEHIND US.. IT REALLY WEARS ME DOWN WHEN CRAP IS GOING ON, I'M 61 GETTING OLD AND 'WO OUT - THERE AIN'T NO REASON WE CAN'T HAVE THE BEST EVENTS IN DRAG RACING. WE DON'T GOT TO DO 10 MIN TURNAROUNDS THIS WEEKEND BUT LETS START HEADING THAT DIRECTION, PLEASE! JUST WATCH THE STAGING LANES, WHEN IT STARTS GETTING LOW ON CARS I'M GONNA BE CALLING UP CARS.. IF THE LANES ARE FULL YOU GOT SOME TIME, BUT WHEN THE LANES ARE GETTING EMPTY I NEED YOU UP THERE

THANKS EVERYONE, SEE YOU SATURDAY!

Might think about an open comp class as a filler to let your more extreme/heads up guys turn around . This class might be something like this .
1 qualifing run ,
You can run .3 under your qualifiying run before break out Handicap pro tree
No slower than 7.64
Just a thought .

REMEMBER THE GOAL IS TO BE FINISHED BY 11:30PM.. I WANT THE FANS TO SEE THE ENTIRE SHOW - FROM QUALIFYING TO THE FINAL ROUNDS... I DON'T THINK ADDING ANOTHER CLASS WILL HELP FINISH BY 11:30.
WE HAVE FINISHED THE LAST COUPLE OF EVENTS AROUND 11:30.. ++PERFECT++ WE JUST NEED TO KEEP TRYING!!

THANKS FOR TRYING TO HELP OUT, I APPRECIATE!!

Been to other tracks and other reaces. Here is suggestions to keep it moving.
High Tech Standards no exceptions/NHRA Sanctioned/Safety or they do not race period
Keep the staging moving.
2 at the lights; 2 behind burn out box always.
Have Class Race times each round and do not deviate.(DQ if not there on time).

Joe , it is your race. You run it. Problems arise when you make the first exception for someone then you lose control.

Fans are also dwindling because you have eliminated one sector of cars based on your rules that make it impossible for a turbo car to compete on a level playing field. No place for turbo cars to run and start on even ground; they quit racing. Good turbo cars provide lots of excitement. They can get wild; run more MPH on top end. Makes for exciting racing for the fans.

Just my thoughts

set the payout based on a 8 car field if more than 16 show for a class up the purse and have a 16 car race. Will make everone work harder to QUALIFY better

we add a class of 8.5 - turbo/blown/misfit outlaws?
hmmmhhmmm

there's a whole lot of room for growth?
call them the

now drive that muther home! It's a fast paced world and humans (fans) today have no patience for down time and delays, no matter how justified. You "fast track" the staging and runs and the fans will stay interested and entertained. If that happens, their ass'es will be in the seats on a repeat basis.

Subject: Fuel pressure on NOS kit

Author:
Tib
[Edit]
Date Posted: 19:09:00 10/22/09 Thu
Have a slight problem with fuel on my NX kit. Lets start with the fuel system. Aeromotive A2000 pump with -10 line running to a "y" block feeding two Holley regs with -8 line. One reg is for the motor and one for nos. The problem is that both regs are creeping up to line pressure of the pump. This causes (i think), the car to cut the same 60' on spray as on motor. The shot is a 175 with a flow of 5.75 of fuel on the flow-jet gage. Tried lowering the fuel presser to 9psi at the pump and droped 60" by .4, but motor "bangs out" on top end. The question is there a upgrade regulator from Holley to handle the larger pressure and volume or is a 1gal cell and Holley blue pump in front my only option?

[Edit]
Date Posted: 19:21:18 10/22/09 Thu
I am assuming that you have your regulators dead headed? one way around it would use a bypass style regulator just before the two holleys to adjust the line pressure by bypassing it back to the pump once it reaches say 13 pounds or so and then use the two holleys to fine tune the kit and motor. I know this is not the best way to do it but it works, on my truck I have three regulators for the nitrous, on to adjust overall line pressure (helps maintain flow even at idle) and then one on each kit since my plate likes more pressure than my fogger. not saying this is the only way to do it but how mine works.

What is the best adhesive for glueing intake gaskets to a manifodld? And do you use the same thing around the water passages, or should I use silicon there? I have been told to glue them to the intake then use a little vacuum grease on the head side around the ports. I'll take suggestions.

Just been doing some test trials with my car recently. It is an all motor car, #3100, 598 BBC good strong motor,33x17 tires, 1.76 PG been running some 8.6x at 161Mph at 7000rpm in the end. The 60ft are slow 1.34. What gear ratio would you guys try out next ? was thinking 4.57. Have also thought about racing some 1/8 races would that 4.57 be Ok as well in that distance ? I would be fine with turning this motor towards 8000rpm. I appreciate any comments

but try down sizing those 33" meats to 30" first... the 17" don't matter but that outside diameter makes a whole lot of knocking down a gear??

can somebody help me with more math?
[Edit]
Date Posted: 18:12:12 10/19/09 Mon
if you do some simple math....
pii x diameter = circumference. then divide that by the gear?

33" tires x 3.14 = 103.62... divided by 4.11 = 25.21
30" tires x 3.14 = 94.20 ... divided by 4.11 = 22.91
29" tires x 3.14 = 91.06 ... divided by 4.11 - 22.15
now the GEAR and big tires only...
now then-33" tires =103.62... divided by 4.57 = 22.57
the difference is +/- .3? --look at 29" and 30" vs GEAR
the similarity is closer than you think-- and the cost is ?
it may be less expensive to buy some tires?, and save the bigguns for the 1/4? maybe spare wheels too?

the fast answer is the gear should work, maybe something closer to 5:1 maybe a 4:88 or a 5:13 for 1/8 mile to wind it tighter.

60' times will influence your ET drasticly. With 33" tires and a 4.56 gear you would be crossing the traps @ 170 mph @ 8000 RPM if you could get it to pull there.

The stall is 4500-4800, I am leaving on the transbrake at 4800
[> [> [> [> [> [> Subject: Have you ever checked the convertor to see what it goes to? Or is the advertised stall? You can take it off the 2-step, put it on the transbrake and deck it. You can watch your tach and see what it will actually flash to. If you leave it decked you will see the RPMs creep up. The point before it starts creeping is your stall RPM. Your launch RPM may be a little high and you are going through the convertor and are slipping before you launch. Try lowering your RPM by a couple of hundred and see where that will get you. I have lowered the launch by 200 RPM and picked up a .10 on the 60' on a car similar to yours.

Tim F gave you the correct procedure to check the stall. One thing to mention is to be very carefull when you check the stall, not to let the transbreak button go before the engine rpm's are back down to idle. With a racers brain, it is so simple to let the button go when the rpm's are up.... just natural motion I guess. Best would be to install a rocker switch while doing the test, then re-install the push button after the test is done. Just my 2 cents.

The fluid is directed thru the input shaft to apply a clutch inside the torque converter that basicly locks the converter up.

Ok heres my settup. 10 gallon aluminum tank with foam feeding two fram chrome and orange filters, mallory pump for motor, holley for nos. I've been doing chassis work and paint to the car for about a year now so it has settup for awhile but I would crank it every now and then and let it warm up about 20 min. Well the carb stopped squirting first of all so I rebuilt it then I went ahead and changed my fuel filters and thats when I found jelly white looking crap caked up around the edges of the hose and mostly around my -an fittings coming from the tank to the filters and even on the fittings on the outlet side of the filters. Anyway I Cleaned all the hoses out real good and screwed them on the tank but left them dangling overnight and noticed the next day the tank had seeped some more gas out. I went to put the filters back on and glanced inside the hoses and there that shit was again just as bad as before. I've always run 110. What causes this and do i need to have the tank cleaned out somehow.
