I broke my base plate on my holley 750 dp. Carb# is 4779-9 and base plate # is 12R-4770B. Anybody got one or a junky carb I can buy for parts? If not, can you tell me where to find one? I tried Jegs and Summit and they don't seem to have the right pn.

I have an older 750 base plate that has a vacuum fitting on it. I had PRC setup my carb with an 850 base plate to equal a 950 carb.
How's $20 sound?

I own bottles from them but am finding it very hard to get across town to swap them out. Since I am an individual they do not deliver to me.
I am looking for someone that will let me drop off a couple bottles at a time, get paid the money up front for the nitrous + add $10.00 per bottle for the trouble.
I will drop off, move them, and pick them up.

THEY BUILT THE CAR FOR TT5 RACING, IT'S ONLY 285 CUBIC INCHES WITH A PROCHARGER, SOMEBODY SAID AN F2 WHAT EVER THAT IS. THEY NEVER GOT A DECENT RUN IN TT5 TRIM, TRANSMISSION TROUBLES FROM DAY ONE.. FINALLY THEY GOT IT FIXED AND THEN FIGURED WHAT THE HELL LETS TRY SOME OF THESE 26X8.5 TIRES. I THINK THEY CAME TO THE TXDRL RACE WITH ONLY 7 PASSES WITH THE 8.5 ON THE CAR..
THESE GUYS GOT THERE WHEN THE GATES OPENS TOOK A STRAGEIC SPOT SO EVERYONE WOULD SEE THEM WHEN THE CAME IN THE GATE.. BOY DID IT WORK.. I have an opinionated question but need answers from the experienced guys that have done or proven..
i have a small block stroker 331 with alum rods/GRP and good stuff inside/hydraulic roller and plan on only spinnin too 7k tops due too little heads..9:9:1 and can run on pump gas..I Wanna put it in my street daily driver..will be raced some also..
what kind of mileage or reliabilty of the rods lasting mileage wise or ?? opinions advise wanted..thanks

[> Subject: I think that with the 7000 RPM limit you say that you will be ok with the aluminum rods on the street. THe biggest thing I see with the aluminum alloy is the expansion of the rod with the heat generated on the street. The more expansion you get, the more bearing clearance you have on the crank. I built a dirt track engine one time for short track use... it was bullet fast for about 100 laps. When it broke, the starter came down to the pits to look at what had happened. He said "he ain't never heard anything like that" when it blew up... Saved the heads and intake/carb... roll the dice, I would!

i was looking at texas king of the hill and sb procharger has same weight as bb nos. really no need in changing rules just because he won one race. lets be happy that we are getting car count for now. it's not like we do this for the money, it's for the fun. i for one have much more fun with atleast 8 cars not 3 so for right now car count is good. and it's good to see differant combos win, it's good for the fans. miller it's all good remember 2 kits 2 micro switchs lol

Checking out Kenny & Jeff, got there feeling hurt this weekend, by a new comer to rock their world. Just yesterday the 8.5 class start with the speed of 6.20's next race 6.00's, the next race 5.80's and so on & on. Think about this how many of those older cars that still running with that class, How many of them are on the out side looking in saying its gone wild, when will it stop.
5.30's to 5.20 tomorrow is in the making of the 8.5 class. You guys are bumping Tuff Street in the butt. Even though Tuff Street has reached it best time of 5.00's with supposed to be one kit with a multitude of weight. Where does it stop. In both classes, its great to watch, but it runs off a bunch of the slower, don't have enuff technology to keep up, back on the porch, becoming computer keybord warriors, waiting on the results by texting of their buddies. What can you do to the rules to control this? There is a lot limitation to be thought about for next year. I heard a thought for the Tuff Street is to go 8.5 tire, that will ruffles some feathers and start a new dealima. What has happen to the Limited street guys.
When you think of the rules don't think about self, you will get busted.

I watched a LENMAR PRO MOD go 3.80 at 196 last weekend at Dallas Raceway in Crandall these guys had 4 pro mods running it must be nice to have that kind of money.

Think you are a bit mistaken there, Frakie Taylor went 3.809 at 195 in Crandall (new track ET record). He is independant and not affiliated offically with Lenmar, jsut friends wiht Gaylen. Fastest Car Lenmar had that weekend was Ken Thomas at 3.97 in qualifying (#1) and 3.98 in finals.

Gaylen went 3.77 @ the rock with the new 57. I think Frankie has been .74 with his ride. I did not know that Warbucks Camaro had even been in the 3s. I doubt it has been an .85 with anyone behind the wheel.

THERE ARE A FEW NITROUS CARS THAN RUN BOTTOM 3.90 WITH A FEW HIGH 3.80'S.
THE BLOWN CARS LIKE FRANKIE AND GAYLEN ALL RUN MID 3.80'S WITH MID 3.75'S YOUR AT THE HEAD OF THE CLASS... BUT THE "HOT DOG" RUNS BOTTOME 3.70'S AND I THINK A FEW 3.60'S

Did anyone notice that in the ADRL article they did not ask Pilcher if he ran that number in the Vette?
I think they must have went pretty fast in the Camaro some time not very long ago. Do u really think that the Pilchers could not get there engine put back together in the what 3 weeks left before the ADRL World Finals?
There is more of a reason behind why the Camaro is going to the World Finals than what was stated in the interview.

WHAT A GREAT RACE TONITE! I WANT TO THANK THE BAKERS FOR HAVING US AND THE TXDRL AT THE BEST TRACK IN TEXAS, HOUSTON MOTORSPORTS PARK! WE FINISHED ABOUT 11:45 -I PUSH THE GUY PRETTY HARD, I WANT THE FANS TO GET TO SEE THE FINAL ROUNDS AND WINNERS OF EACH CLASS. WE HAVE TO HAVE A MIX OF FANS AND RACERS FOR THE SHOW TO WORK. RACERS REMEMBER THE SPECTATORS PAYS FOR YOUR PURSE, WE HAVE TO RESPECT OUR FANS -WITHOUT THEM THE SHOW IS OVER.
ECONOMIC TIMES ARE PRETTY TUFF RIGHT NOW FOR EVERYONE, THE ATTENDANCE HAS BEEN DOWN THIS YEAR EVERY WHERE BUT I TRY AND KEEP THE PURSES FOR EACH CLASS RESPECTABLE. WE GOT TO HAVE THE RACERS FOR THE FANS TO COME SEE! TONITE EVEN THOUGH SOME CLASSES MISSED THE MINIMUM I PAID A FULL PURSE IN ALL CLASSES EXCEPT THE NEWEST CLASS, BATTLE OF THE BACK HALVES. WE HAD SIX CARS IN THE BACKHALF CLASS. I WANT TO THANK BIG WILL FROM KILGORE AND THE GUYS THAT MADE THE TOW WITH HIM FOR RUNNING THE BACKHALF CLASS. I WAS KINDA WONDERING IF THE BACK HALF CLASS WAS GOING TO PICK UP, WELL TONITE WITH WILL, WEATHERLY, DICK, THE MAROON S-10,I THINK THE CLASS IS GONNA COME AROUND!! I WANT TO GET SOME OPINIONS ON SOMETHING, BACK TO THE FANS GETTING TO SEE THE ENTIRE SHOW, THEY PAY FULL PRICE, WE NEED THEM TO COME OUT, WE WANT THEM TO COME BACK. ONE RESPECTED TUFF STREET RACER COMMENTED TONITE -THE HEADS UP CARS NEEDS AT LEAST 45 MIN TO AN HOUR. FIRST BRUSH I TOLD HIM WE CAN'T DO THAT, AS WE RUN THE CARS DOWN TO THE SEMIS -4 CARS IT DON'T TAKE LONG TO RUN 4 HEADS UP CLASSES IT WOULD BE 45 MIN WITH NOTHING GOING DOWN THE TRACK. ME I DON'T LIKE DEAD TRACK TIME.. SOME TIMES IT HAPPENS ON A CLEAN-UP -NOTHING WE CAN DO ABOUT THAT DEAD TIME.
HERE IS THE PROPOSAL GETTING THE CAR TURNED AROUND QUICK FOR THE NEXT ROUND CAN BE ACCOMPLISHED. A QUICK TURN-A-ROUND WILL HAVE TO BE A GOAL EACH TEAMS SETS. RIGHT NOW THERE ARE "NO CLOCKS" ON TURNAROUND TIME. YES THE RACERS ARE TRYING TO GET READY BUT PAST PRACTICE THE TRACKS HAVE ALLOWED THE RACERS AS MUCH TIME AS THEY NEED. WHY CAN'T TURNAROUND TIME BE A CHALLENGE JUST LIKE MAKING THE CAR GO FASTER. TO WIN A GUY WILL HAVE TO BE FAST DOWN THE TRACK AND HIS CREW IS REALLY IMPORTANT NOW. YOU WILL NEED AN EFFICIENT CREW REALLY WORKING TOGETHER TO GET THE TURNAROUND TIME TO MATCH THE RACE CARS GOING DOWN TRACK. THE LAST COUPLE OF ROUNDS THE CREW WILL REALLY NEED TO BE ON THEIR TOES. I THINK THE GOAL SHOULD BE TO KEEP THE SPECTATORS "ENTERTAINED" IS NOT EXACTLY THE RIGHT WORD BUT YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO GET MY DRIFT. NOW THE ONLY THING THAT REALLY SLOWS DOWN THE TURNAROUND TIME IS COOLING THE MOTORS. MOST RACERS HAVE A FAN BLOWING ON THE MOTOR TO COOL OFF. I DON'T WANT THE FANS SITTING IN THE STANDS WITH NOTHING GOING DOWN THE TRACK BECAUSE WE ARE WAITING ON INEFFICIENT FANS TRYING TO COOL DOWN MOTORS. I THINK IF YOU RACERS THOUGHT ABOUT TRYING TO COOL DOWN FASTER IT CAN BE DOWN.
THE COOL DOWN AT PORTER WAS A RACK OF WATERHOSES... MAYBE 4 OR 5 WATER HOSES ABOUT A CAR LENGTH APART ON THE RETURN ROAD UP BY THE PITS, IF YOU NEEDED TO COOL DOWN RACERS WOULD STOP AT THE WATER AND RUN THE HOSE DOWN IN THEIR RADIATOR, MOST WOULD TAKE THE TOP HOSE OFF AND STICK THE WATER HOSE IN AND LET THE WATER BACK-FLOW THRU THE MOTOR AND DRAIN OUT TOP OF THE RADIATOR.. YOU COULD FEEL THE OUTLET WATER AND KNOW COOL YOU ARE GETTING OR SIMPLY JUST READ YOUR GAUGE. A RACK OF WATER HOSES WOULD COOL THE MOTOR DOWN IN ABOUT 5 MIN INSTEAD 45 MIN
NOW THIS AIN'T GONNA HAPPEN OVER NITE BUT I WOULD LIKE IT TO BE A GOAL FOR FUTURE RACES. TONITE WE NEVER LET THE TRACK "GO DEAD" - EVERYONE DONE AN EXCELLENT JOB AND I REALLY APPRECIATE IT. Thanks for putting on a great race last night! It was a tight turn around in the pits. It was especially tough for the guys that were the last ones down the track, for their class, after each round...as they had the shortest amount of turn around time.
As for my car, I can't thank Josh from LMR enough for his effort. He's knocked a full 2 tenths off of the ET's and added 5mph since he's been working his magic on the boost controller and MSD. Now we just need to put in an air/water intercooler and stop holding back!

Thomas you killed that for yourself when you made the rules fit your heavy ass black car with a smallblock. Now once again smallblocks on spray can no longer be competitive at 3100 lbs. Its once again a big block race. Use the old orsca weights and the smallblocks can play again. Just my 2 pennies ! By the way even some of the big blocks have to add weight to get to 3300. Just a thought.

I totally agrre with everything said about the weights and rules.True ten is dead , outlaw ten is dead , orsca is dead. Orsca was smart enough to realize that they were fihgting a loosing battle but it was already to late because a few certain players didnt want to change. Joe has started something that could very well take off big in more than one arena but as we know rules and weights are the biggest factor to an even playing field. People such as yourself seem to have all the answers so share them please. If not sit down and shut the hell up. Name one class that has ever been fair to the smallblock guy , and dont say go buy a big block because thats where the big money plays in again.Besides if Naiser couldnt do it , with all due respect , how could you or I. I think 8.5 class is great and the show Jo puts on is good . but 700 ci big block on 3 kits @ 3350LBS and a small block on turbo has too weigh the same . get real man there is no playing field not every turbo small block is a TT5 car. there sould be a better brke for small blocks . and as for what you said about TT5& orsca your right rules fuckeg it up . all im sayin theres alot of small block guy that want to run this class but cant becouse of the weght . if they add the weight they cant keep up nor afford to go faster. the end fucker

Should be two screw-on caps located near or on top of A/C compresser. One should be fitted to accept the quick connect hose from your freon can.

Just as you've described Far-Out. On the High side there is a small port, which my quick-connect fits, then there's a larger one for gauge readings or what-ever. I've never charged into the high side before. Always the low side, or suction side. If I do attempt to charge through the high side, the only safe way that comes to mind is...#1 NOT have the engine running, with comp. on like NORMAL, and #2 pre-heat cans with hair dryer prior to, and during opening tap valve/charging. Just try and force the stuff in there. Like I said never done this through the high side before. Thanks.

Well if anyone was courious, I managed to add 9oc. to the system through the high side. By means of heating charge, and over coming cold(comp. not running) head preasure.
Now instead of comp. switching on and off, because of low charge(like it should), and warmer like it was(65-degree) at vent. It now runs pretty much non-stop with a vent temp of 45 deg.
What I did was not the norm, but it worked. Thanks Yall.

Had a great time shooting the race and seeing some racers I have not seen in awhile. Got a few good photos but was fighting the DEAD AIR and Burnout smoke lingering on the starting line causing some white out photos. Was able to fix a few in Photoshop. Joe put on a good race and flowed really nice with the Track Prep by HMP unbelievable. Some really nice numbers were put down in several classes and a congrats to Trevor on the 5 flat. You are probably running too hot of a plug and have pre-ignition going on in the cylinders, causing the car to slow down. Put in a one or two stop colder plug and run the piss out of it.

Your plugs are gaped to wide.You should close the gap to .032 to .035. Your putting to much cylinder pressure for the coil to fire the plugs at 250 hp.

Selling my project truck that I thought I was going to be able to finish up but its jus sitn in the driveway.....this a running truck with up to date tags....well this truck has a rebuilt 305 and rebuilt tranny with around 6.000 mile on it.....so far this is what I have done it has a pro comp aluminum intake with a 600 edlebrock carb sweet looking holley air breather flow-tech longtube headers with flowmasters accel dist.megafire 8.5 wires e3 sparkplug and I have been using royal purple oil...have all new a/c parts that I haven't put on yet has a 2 four drop not to low with billet grill some euro headlights and rear lights inside is pretty clean no tears on the bench seat put have some buckets that r going with the truck the truck does have some rust and one dent on the right side fender & has 20in spokes on it.....the truck is pearl white with a black hood the guy who painted this truck did a very poor job.....all you need is a paint job and a lil body work and you have your self a clean ass truck.....asking 2.800...832.228.4384...thanks

New to the nos game so go easy on me. Putting a plate on my sbc 383 and would like to mount my solonoids on the inner fender instead of hanging off the carb bolts. I hear that I will loose some "hit" with added length between solonoids and plate. With say a 150 shot, will that dif be noticeable? Would be about 18" of steel braided hose. Thanks

Depends. I have seen them come apart at 400hp in 5 passes and seen them go years at 700hp.
If you have a light casting 1979 factory 4bolt hecho in Mexico, prolly not much.
I have one for sale that started life as 1972 2 bolt(thicker casting), was sonic checked for core shift, and splayed main caps installed by Summit Racing(or who ever did it for Summit years ago), and something like that will probably hold up to a lot more.

12" wheel is to wide, cups the inner foot print of the tire. Speaking from experience we sixty foot better on a 10" thought about even an 8" eventually.

You drain the oil. Drive it to where you want it to lock up. Add 1 bottle (1.9L)of the liquid glass to the oiling system. Run it at 2000rpms until it locks. Some lock in 15 seconds others take 10-15 minutes. If you are adding 4 quarts you are over filling. Tag the engine, scrap yard picks up vechiles and they part out the vechile then crush the rest.
